my most conservative-coded trait these days is that i honestly think that the worst possible thing that can happen for young men is for the entire society to coddle them. what they need to hear is that they have one life to live and they have to take responsibility for it.

Recall that Trump can encourage subordinates to do things like what he suggests in the quoted post because the Supreme Court has said he, unlike those who will carry out his orders, is immune from criminal and civil liability.
Whatever a border czar is, they don't have arrest authority. Federal law enforcement officers do, pending judicial enforcement. Consultation with prosecutors is the norm for pre-planned arrests & here's the kicker: people being arrested must have actually committed a crime.
