In all the discussion about Schumer and Jeffries re: Mamdani, the ONLY possibility is that they were part of a conspiracy to stop a socialist foothold in the Democratic Party - not that they didn’t like the smarmy rich kid with the dumb policy ideas.
Democratic leaders like Schumer and Jeffries stayed as far away from the Mamdani campaign as possible because they’re tied by their umbilical cords to their focus groups and AIPAC talking points (“Strongly Worded Letters” for 500, Alex!)—rather than reading the room, as Mamdani did and WON.

An under-examined issue in politics is just how many people are phonies and so they assume that other people are also phonies.
The difference between Cassidy and most other Republicans is that he knew exactly what he was doing to millions of Americans' livers and health in general, and did it anyway.

This is the correct take. Stewing in white supremacist propaganda is bad for your thinking. And if think you are so savvy that it won’t impact you, you are the exact kind of mark they are slowly converting (I’m looking at you, centrist pundits).
It’s really funny how a generation will roll its eyes at parents who watch Fox News but doesn’t see why being immersed in Twitter is having the same effect. Lots of serious people show up on Fox News too but that shouldn’t be your primary source on the news.

This article makes really good points about the inability of most people to cut expenses without entirely losing the ability to participate in the economy. I get tired of people telling me to live cheaper by eliminating things that are necessary for modern life.

It's wholly irresponsible to pretend that The Democrats have not been calling out how illegal and dangerous ICE is. They've been talking about it a ton, passing laws in blue states to fight back, getting detained and arrested, calling them "Trump's Secret Police".

I like cheesecake but it is too rich and not for everyone. I could eat a whole pie, but the thought of eating two slices of cheesecake makes me nauseous.
I get a lot of hate for this view and in turn I'd only ask if you've ever had a pie as good as a typical cheesecake. The answer is no, you have not. Cheesecake invalidates the whole pie category. Hell, regular cake barely survives the cheesecake onslaught on the strength of carrot cake alone.
The dirty secret of pies is that they have the lowest ceiling potential of all sweets. Your best pie is merely fine. Your median pie is bad.

I absolutely think less of anyone who claims Trump is an authoritarian fascist existential threat and then in person acts like he's just a normal president. "I am focused on New York" says the guy going meeting with the president for no reason.
