Damned if you do; damned if you don't. The government spent months turning immigration court into a deportation trap.

America, you do not like home break-ins. But what if selling stolen goods is the way to restart the retail industry?

America, you have spoken loud and clear: You do not like AI. But what if AI is the way to restart the world’s idea machine?
We’re running out of good ideas. AI might be how we find new ones.
What if the best use of AI is restarting the world’s idea machine?

How many pieces came out in the New York Times and the Atlantic accusing trans people of erasing the word woman. Here's the Trump administration literally banning the use of the word and not a peep.

Reminder that not only do library systems have physical media (& many also lend tools, electronics etc), your library card may give you access to streamers Kanopy and Hoopla. We just watched Francis Ford Coppola’s adaptation of The Rainmaker via a hoopla the other night. Pretty good!
“As prices for streaming subscriptions continue to soar and finding movies to watch, new and old, is becoming harder as the number of streaming services continues to grow, people are turning to the unexpected last stronghold of physical media: the public library.”
The Last Video Rental Store Is Your Public Library
Audio-visual librarians are quietly amassing large physical media collections amid the IP disputes threatening select availability.

🧵1/ I’m releasing my documentary “A Visit to a Homeless Shelter for Transgender Ugandans” in 5 parts.

In Part 1, we begin in Kampala’s “7 hills” to show how far from industry trans ugandans are living—as they try to avoid eviction.

I wonder what the British “contribution” was when they came to Bengal, or Kenya, or Palestine, or China, or…
My dad came to the UK with nothing. He needed financial assistance for years; he even had to ask a charity for money to buy a suit and train ticket for his university interviews. He became a world-leading migraine doctor and helped countless patients.

He “took”, then he “gave”.

JK Rowling got a full *decade* of press as a martyr for being "cancelled" (declared passe by people online) and meanwhile nobody considers it very interesting that a prominent left wing author is basically banned from entering or publishing in the United Kingdom for her politics
so this is like, one of the biggest free speech infringements by a western democracy in our lifetimes right?

The DOJ has been subpoenaing all the medical records from kids’ gender clinics. We don’t know who’s complied and given out our kids’ most intimate info. But some clinics are fighting the DOJ and judges are GOING IN.

This is flatly false! Trans people with a passport that does not match with their plain appearance when presented to a border agent is subject to additional hassle compared to a cis person presenting a passport.
NEW: On the shadow docket, the Supreme Court lets Trump resume misgendering trans Americans on their passports, claiming "the government is merely attesting to a historical fact without subjecting anyone to differential treatment." All three liberals dissent. www.documentcloud.org/documents/26...
