So far as I can tell, this mostly directs the AG to file lawsuits seeking to void state laws that prohibit "AIs" from being racist. Unfortunately, I don't think they will be able to file all of these suits in Texas.

I remember Fetterman being all about marijuana legalization ws Lt Gov 🤷
The shutdown deal includes a ban on hemp products that none of its negotiators debated in public.

Disappointing that only 24 senators voted against killing an amendment to strike that ban.

Awesome.
Last weekend, @annabower.bsky.social started to receive Signal messages from the U.S. attorney who is leading the prosecution of Letitia James.

Throughout the exchange, Lindsay Halligan complained about Bower’s tweets and reporting on the indictment–but never once asked to be off the record.
“Anna, Lindsey Halligan Here.”

Economics is a science the way dowsing for water is a science and requires about the same level of critical thinking
There are basically only two positions in the debate about AI.
1. I’ve barely invested any time in learning how to use it effectively. AI sucks.
2. I’ve invested in learning how to use this tool. Holy cow, it’s transformational.

Position #1 has lower barriers to entry.

Author "spares" the readers who shelled out for a physical copy of his book "the extra weight of carrying [the endnote] pages around" for their "leisure" by putting them online. Unfortunately, my leisure in reading a physcial book is, in fact, reading a physical book.

The Trump administration’s threat to deploy troops in Portland is unlawful.

Here’s a thought.

Hegseth is going to unintentionally lay the groundwork for a military coup against his regime, and I think that's beautiful.
Whatever the reason Hegseth is calling all these generals to Virginia for, you gotta assume that it probably could have been an email.

Not ideal when local law enforcement isn't clearly distinct from the local paramilitaries.

Dem House Rep Steven Horsford:
“They called the local sheriff; they showed up and were going to arrest me. These are the same people that I’m supposed to call to coordinate security or to do support when I have a town hall.”

While it's unfortunate that "advice of counsel" letters won't save you after doing war crimes, at least the schmucks whose illegal orders you're following will back you to the hilt (unless it's inconvenient or requires them to care about someone who isn't stupidly wealthy).
Dems ought to be telling people now these letters are worth absolutely nothing.

Brazil should take this threat seriously. SOCOM has the tools to murder tens of civilians in boats anywhere in the world... North Korea, Venezuela, you name it, they can commit a pointless war crime.

Pulisic is going to be doing selfies with Trump during the World Cup. Hard to get behind a team whose "superstar" leadership is so painfully pathetic (e.g., the various antics on and off field of Weah, Pulisic, McKennie, and Reyna).
Tim Weah, asked by @jeffreycarlisle.bsky.social if he stands by his use of the word "evil" to describe critics of Christian Pulisic: "100% - I stand by everything I said."

Then says he's focused on the positives & moving forward now.
