Self-published authors are unfortunately very rapidly becoming my most-blocked demographic on here due entirely to the rampant use of hideous AI generated book covers

The desexualisation of media (everyone is beautiful, and no one is horny) combined with an increasing hysteria around the 'pointlessness' of sex scenes is a key part of the fascistization of western culture and if we're going to fight back we're going to need to make it normal to be horny again.

At recent town hall our rep stated part of Dem strategy in the house is to help some Republicans "find their courage" (enough to break a tie). I wonder if there is a similar strategy in the senate?

Last night I read “It Feels Good to Be Yourself,” a trans-affirming picture book about gender identity, with my 4-year-old. As expected, my kid had a lot of questions. Questions like, “How is that kid’s hula hoop staying up?,” “Why is that dog on a leash?,” and “What is that kid’s mom’s name?”

I don’t know if I can pinpoint the hardest moment of parenthood so far, but my kid insisting on listening to “When She Loved Me” from Toy Story 2 on repeat for a twenty-minute drive is definitely a contender.

Okay, giving Bluesky a try. My first reaction is an unexpected WAVE OF ELATION that I can set the default Home Screen to just the posts of people I’m following, and delete the discover tab completely. It’s giving 2010 Twitter and I feel like, for the first time in ages, We Can Have Nice Things.
