Rolling Stone: clearly documents a 30+ year long con job. A rural county's own leadership lined their pockets by helping ag interests destroy the water supply.

Everyone who read the article apparently??: Amazon data centers did this in 2011

a thing to ask yourself re: the GOP's electoral position is what could happen over the next year that could *improve* its position? and what could trump do, plausibly, that might *boost* his numbers with the public?

Hard to justify getting rid of Hegseth when he just proved to you he’s willing to commit murder / war crimes at your command when you’re at the helm of a faltering authoritarian project, really.

Like, it’s quite literally what you hired him for and what you hope he’ll do more of when asked.
that sound you hear is bradley’s corpse getting crunched under the weight of an admin who are desperate to avoid having to replace hegseth, congressional hearings should be a lot of fun
If Admiral Bradley didn’t realize before that these cowards were setting him up to take the fall, he knows it now. Time to hire a good lawyer.

It’s clear that Republicans are very worried about the upcoming special election in a Tennessee district that Trump won by double digits.

Help us GOTV for @aftynbehn.bsky.social (a state representative and former Indivisible organizer) before Election Day on Tuesday: www.mobilize.us/indivisible/...
Scoop: Trump and Johnson to hold tele-rally for GOP in tight Tennessee House race
Should Republicans lose — or win narrowly — it would further expectations that the party is heading toward a perilous midterm.

Iowa City made buses free in August 2023 with a goal of lowering emissions and encouraging people to take public transit.

Now ridership is up, traffic is down, and the program is extremely popular.

So popular that the City Council has voted to extend it for another year.

a lot of words, none of them denying that Hegseth gave an order to kill helpless people who were stranded at sea after he blew up their boats

I'll be back more regularly after my semester ends, but in the mean time, I'm in the @forward.com talking about Mamdani's response to the protest at Park East synagogue last week, and why ambivalence is sometimes okay. forward.com/opinion/7861...
What does Mamdani's response to synagogue protests mean for Jews? No one will like the answer.
Zohran Mamdani's response to a protest outside Park East synagogue satisfied no one. But it might speak to a crucial truth about Jewish life.
