Gah didn’t know how bad it was getting in Canada for climate policy until I read Steven’s resignation letter
This afternoon, I informed the Prime Minister of my decision to resign as Minister of Canadian Identity and Culture, Minister responsible for Official Languages, Minister of Nature and Parks Canada, as well as his Lieutenant in Quebec.

You can find my full statement below.

Good 🧵 about Steve Witkoff, the narrative of him being a “useful idiot” is a dangerous trap to walk in.

Witkoff has spent three decades swimming in russian money, russian mob circles, and russian real-estate pipeline. russia knows how to grow an asset

EXCLUSIVE: One Saturday afternoon in October, my phone lit up with a notification.

I glanced down at the message.

“Anna, Lindsey Halligan here,” it began.

So began my text exchange with the woman who is prosecuting the president's perceived political enemies.

After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like.
Let’s be clear about what happened to Jimmy Kimmel

Why in the year 2025 do UK Energy Performance Certificates still recommend people to install new fossil fuel heating systems but never recommend a heat pump?

I have written about this issue 6 years ago. If you want to read my old article you can find it here: foresightmedia.com/historie/swp...

Nigel Farage just repeatedly denied – under oath! – to @raskin.house.gov
ever banning journalists he doesn’t like from his party’s conventions.

This happened to me *literally today*.
Nigel Farage is about to give evidence to the US Congress on threats to free speech in the UK.

So here's one for him: Reform UK has just banned me (and @thenewworldmag.bsky.social) from attending its party conference this weekend. www.thenewworld.co.uk/james-ball-w...
Chicken Farage bans The New World
It claims to be the party of free speech, but this last-minute decision to stop me attending tells a very different story

Sure would be nice if federal judges coordinated when they release opinions with my kid’s doctors appointment schedule. But for now will just say that judge Breyer masterfully pieced together a factual record in what will some of the most consequential PCA litigation we’ve seen in decades.
BREAKING: Judge Charles Breyer finds that the Trump administration violated the Posse Comitatus Act by using the military for domestic law enforcement purpose in Los Angeles.

He enjoins further violations of the Posse Comitatus Act ⬇️

Prima facie, Elon Musk appears to be manipulating X platform for specific political voices he supports (as well as using his own account to amplify the far right & furthest right).

In particular the platform dynamic has shifted & is helping Tommy Robinson to be amplified more than Nigel Farage.
The growth in followers of Farage on X has stalled since January 2025 (adding 70,000 to date).

Followers of Robinson have surged (adding 370,000), but Farage is still 800,000 ahead.

Post views and engagements for Farage have declined, while those for Robinson increased (overtaking Farage).

Chicago. My favourite US city.
Pritzker: Trump looked at the cameras and asked for me personally to say, Mr. President, can you do us the honor of protecting our city? Instead, I say, Mr. President, do not come to Chicago.

Your remarks about this effort have betrayed a continuing slip in your mental faculties
