🧪🔬🧬🎓So #JamesWatson is dead. Should we honor him for his undeniable essential contributions to modern biology?
No because he was an antisemite, a racist, an eugenecist, a sexist who tried to steal the work of #RosalindFranklin without crediting her. A terrible scientist and human being.

Brexit costs us £40 billion a year in lost tax income from trade with the EU, this is why we are broke
If you vote for Reform you're voting for the same people who made us broke, to fix us being broke 🤷♂️ #BBCQT

I used to read a book a day as a child. Spent as much time in the library after school as I could add a teenager. I read loads of stories, eventually. But the first books I really wanted to read were dictionaries, craft books and non fiction.

I have trans women friends who’ve been living authentically for decades - how are they going to start using the gents?
I have a tall cis female friend who’s now scared to use ladies loos because she’s been harassed several times.
This code is both cruel and unworkable.

Just fuck off with this. How about start the conversation by highlighting how much immigrants contribute to the UK - not least by propping up the NHS and social care system!
Also - forced volunteering is not volunteering, it's unpaid labour.

Three common themes across the stories:
1. The lack of accountability in public life
2. The ultra-rich have essentially declared war on civil society
3. The UK lacks the staff to run core functions like tax and probation.
Happy lunch :)

Look at this graph.
The share of national income going to the richest 10 percent was lowest (and share to lower 90 percent highest) when union membership was at its highest. As unions have weakened, inequality has widened.
This is why we must build back union power.

I'm not the only one to make this point, but there will need to be the equivalent of Nuremberg Trials when this is all over (however long that takes). If there are no consequences for fascists, we'll keep having fascism.
