The Kirby Frame is maybe the only time a meme has improved my thinking
And as @anthonymoser.com explains we need to Kirby these frames not accept them and go from there. The opposite!

My best friend visited today and asked "why is there a parcel here addressed to both of us?" It was a book from the Young V&A museum about their history. I half joked "D'you think we're mentioned?"
Our installation is right in the introduction. We had a little celebration.

Being non binary in 90s small town Germany was strange. There there simply wasn't any suitable language to hand and so I just spent that time being vague, feeling like a cryptid, not correcting anyone when they called me young man, young lady, you there. Avoiding public toilets. No identity to claim

Today my friend is coming round so I feel ready to go on a walk around town after weeks of respiratory illness that folds me into a wheezing huddle if I attempt anything at all. I think I'm mostly better but it's good to have someone along. I want to go buy pens and snacks! See the sky! The sea!!!

Yes!! This is a GREAT way to support authors-if your library doesn’t have the book, request it! Only my second year ever of PLR & it’s AMAZING to know that my books have been borrowed over 1000 times!!🥰🙏🏽 #kidlituk #ukkidlit 🐘🦜
It’s UK Public Lending Right time again which means it’s time for my semi-regular reminder that spending your money on books is NOT the only way to support your favourite authors. We DO get paid when you take books out of the library. It’s free for you and good for authors and readers everywhere! 📚

ONE MONTH EXACTLY until Maud is Moving comes out.
My first chapter book! I'm proud of it. It's got lots of drawings. It's got neurodivergence. It's got art and hauntings, high rise buildings and rain in jars and the adventure of moving house to a new town.

Please share this information about the Home Office's consultation paper on its proposed changes to immigration/asylum seeker processes. The consultation doc is badly-designed and worded, so I found Amnesty's guidance useful. Thanks.
anyway the consultation shuts tomorrow, one minute to midnight UK time: www.gov.uk/government/c... Amnesty have some good guidance here. Go on: media.amnesty.org.uk/documents/Am...

the whole thing is of course completely revolting. 20 YEARS to settlement for refugees? no settlement if you’ve ever had a criminal conviction or a tax debt? 10 YEARS added if you’ve ever received benefits? partners and children on their own routes to settlement? What are you even TALKING about

Did some novel writing today, and it was really fun. I'd put it all aside months ago because the scenes were coming out aimless and the characters felt vague, but today I had my imagination back somehow. Phew.

Got exhausted from eating some chips, literally. Now making myself read a good book rather than just lie there and feel unspeakably frustrated. Exhaustion is normal. But heck I thought I could draw today.

And that means I'm doing a heck of a lot of work all of a sudden... This year I'm stepping up the card games.
Hello!
Guess what, we are gearing up to reprint new editions of all our games. Polished up some of the rulebooks some more. Tweaked the card stock. Did a Spring clean of the office. Cleared space in the warehouse for many boxes.

Anyway a simple way to avoid Explaining Gay is to introduce your kids to a diverse set of people from a very young age because if some of their friends have gay parents then they simply won’t ask why a character in a book has two mummies

always so funny to me when people are like “how am I supposed to explain Gay to my kids?” my kid asks me way harder shit all the time. “why did they build the road this way? why are some people bad?” I don’t know. please ask me about Gay

Because I think it's very easy for folks who've never used larp safety tools to have a mistaken image of what using them actually looks like: here's a few words about the four different times one tool got used when I was playing last weekend

What it actually looks like using safety tools
Last weekend, I played in Aretuza, an international larp for roughly 80 players run from Friday-Sunday in the Spanish Pyrenees. There’s so much I could say about the game – especially w…

One thing I'm glad about is that since the last millennium people in the UK got used to the idea of cooking and eating an entire crown of cauliflower instead of a few sad florets - as far as I can tell, anyway no one's called me mad and disgusting for it lately. Ugh I love brassica
