Yeah, that was another lucky break, back when I was a journalist. It was for Tree of Life movie but managed to pick his wonderful brain about the Star Trek: TMP dry dock sequence (which he wrote, directed and shot) among other things.

Me and a mate made the Making Of, the perfect excuse to hang out on a moonbase several times a week for a couple of months. A real privilege to see a movie like that get made.

Would love a spaceship combat game based on The Expanse, full of breaking manoeuvres, hard gravity acceleration, hammerlok, limited ammo, rail guns, etc. It was the most original and exciting aspects of that great show.

Was lucky enough to visit Pearson’s model shop when I worked on Moon (2009), there were loads of repurposed and abandoned models from various unmade movies and shows.

It used to be newsworthy when every 5 or 10 years some rock virtuoso child would emerge, they’d be soloing away on Nationwide, Record Breakers, Blue Peter, etc. Now there are entire families of them, this lot are incredible, guitarist has only been playing about 2 years youtu.be/F6WRxaC3QME?...

I’ve lived thereabouts a couple of Leigh places, lived in a flat exactly the same as Meantime (took me about a year to figure why it felt familiar), the Careers Girls one in Camden was down the end of my road and was turned into a large house bought by one of Coldplay.

He’s awesome, he totally understood the assignment, so many turned up to TOTP and made no effort, he dressed up, did some memorable shtick that is clearly still getting a reaction today. We need more of that, not less.

That movie features a stoner rock band, Stoneground, the only Dracula movie to have one. Dunno if they’re good but being in a Hammer horror and getting Caroline Munro, Stephanie Beacham, Marsha Hunt and “Britain’s most photographed model” Flanagan dancing is a solid legacy. youtu.be/18RKwISa6JM?...
