White people don't get to dictate what any pro-democracy movement looks like, and arguing with them about it makes it seem like they DO have the authority. They do not. They are what's being moved against, and they are panic-striken and, of course, dangerous.

THIS. Did you know sickle cell is curable, now? FULLY curable.

If you're feeling down or despairing about what FEELS like technology/advancement/science "standing still" or being fully malicious, I have great news: You're not paying attention to actual science. Just tech industry marketing.
meanwhile.... medicine has taken INSANE leaps and bounds in the last 2 years.
we're out here curing HIV and leukemia and creating 100% efficacy vaccines against all sorts of cancers, and now this??

between this and renewable energy outstripping fossil fuels in efficiency, the future is bright
Wanna see real-life miracles? Fund scientific research.

A team of US scientists just cured Alzheimer’s in mice — and there is now hope that the disease can be reversed in humans.

People 300 years ago thought we'd never live in a world without kings.
well we're never going to live in a world without billionaires so it's probably a good idea to think about actual possible ways to mitigate the damage they can cause
You cannot have witnessed the events of the past two years and still believe "billionaires existing" is compatible with democracy.

Having the sense/wisdom to listen to adoptees' lived experience is in fact *incredibly* rare.

The adoption industry spends a lot of money on marketing to make sure that the only people seen as experts on adoption are the ones buying and selling children- not those of us that were bought and sold.
I'll never understand how people can treat marginalized groups like this. Like, since I have no experience with adoption I should listen to people who have been through the system. I didn't think that was so radical of an idea. I'm sorry you and other adoptees go through this constantly

My opinion of the New York Times is distinctly outside the mainstream among journalists. Most think NYT is mostly excellent journalism with some flaws and blind spots, I think it's mostly a vehicle for laundering right wing propaganda with some excellent people who put out good work.
I just learned that this incredibly flawed story was put on the front page of the newspaper, and that certainly seems like an editorial choice
New, from me: The NYT reporter who specializes in profiles of beleaguered right-wingers on campus went to New College...and found out that things were going ok!

So let me explain some pretty massive errors of omission: 🧵

Ok all sarcasm aside, what these white supremacists are really talking about is when they are asked to apologize for doing racist things. Which happens. Because racism is something to apologize for. What they are saying is that no one should have to apologize for racist actions or statements.
Next time someone says they don’t have to apologize for being white anymore, ask them to tell about the most recent time they were forced to apologize for being white and who made them do it.

Her travel itinerary was released with some of the Epstein files. It appears the DOJ was monitoring her in 2019.
