psst, no one is struggling with this - we are trying to create singular things that resonate with a huge audience or resonate hugely with a specific audience. We "struggle" with how tech and VC funding has broken almost every creative economy we have. So thanks but no thanks

Odd to see Split Fiction for Family Game in @thegameawards.com. Great game, but it's PEGI 16 for "realistic-looking violence towards human characters... being impaled on a large axe, with blood spraying on the impact, as the character is heard grunting in pain." "the word 'f*ck' is heard censored."

DVD extras / behind the scenes stuff inspired a whole generation of folk to make stuff, myself included.

A shame we’ve lost some of that inspiration in the streaming era.

Hope remains!
Come on authors, we're all rooting for you!
AI advocates have warned that if every author in the class action filed a claim, it would "financially ruin" the entire industry.
Authors celebrate “historic” settlement coming soon in Anthropic class action
Advocates fear such settlements will “financially ruin” the AI industry.

Is there any more condescending award than "Games for Impact?" Reminds me when they paraded me on stage at high school graduation and gave me an "overcoming the odds" award. Consolation prize-ass. I'm in a wheelchair and was trying to get laid in high school I wasn't trying to be valedictorian.

Xbox made the certification documents public (this is it takes to ship/pass the checklist/QA to launch a game on Xbox) for everyone; and Nintendo/PS should consider the same. There are a lot of things that if were common knowledge would save hours/money to everyone. developer.microsoft.... #gamedev

Tommy Robinson openly celebrating Labour's new asylum seekers policy should tell everyone exactly how far right Labour are now.

Labour, Reform and Tories are all the same. Right wing parties only interested in making money for their donors.

Do not vote Labour.
The Labour Government reeling off the same far-right talking points on immigration. And look who is celebrating. The far-right.

There is a political alternative that won’t ever scapegoat those fleeing war, persecution and torture

Conflating machine learning tools with GenAI and LLMs are such a favorite of these bad faith arguments, too. Like, machines studying X-rays to better understand cancer is not the same thing as Open AI swallowing all my books via piracy to regurgitate sentences that sound similar. It's just not.

3 years ago today, Riot Games offered me a job making more money than I ever thought I’d make in my life. I had 19 interviews over 2.5 months to get it. Partner and I were moving to LA for it. I put in notice at my job and apartment.

2 weeks later they rescinded the offer due to “headcount issues”.

Ubisoft and Treyarch resorting to regurgitative AI in their big $70 “AAA” games is simply pathetic.

The lack of integrity, the lack of dignity, the lack of pride. Sure, it’s all expected, but nonetheless miserably *pathetic* to witness.

Have some fucking self respect for once.

Much respect to the UI team, you don't deserve to be associated with this. Shame on Activision.

I mean you can barely tell
Well, all my friends bought it
