Behold: The Dryangle V0.1!*

A philosophical model for the most efficient and effective way of drying laundry outside on a washing line or airer, depending on weather conditions.

*V0.1 because there are probably more accurate ways to explain the considerations.
A visual model of a triangle that explains the considerations for the most efficient way to hang washing on the line depending on weather conditions. The triangle has corners labelled Warm, Sunny, Breezy. Each line is labelled Space, Time, Mass. In the centre is a gradient going from teal (less) to orange (more). The idea being that the closer current conditions are to the centre of the Dryangle, the most efficient conditions are for Space (how close together you can hang the washing), Mass (how thick the fabrics can be), and Time (how late in the day you can hang the washing and still get it dry before dusk). This was made by me, Kaye Elling, an academic and middle aged woman, and almost certainly undiagnosed neurodivergent.

Red Sprites are an amazing & rare form of lighting that instead of going down, go up through the mesosphere. They manifest as a cold plasma dancing the ionosphere. They happen so fast it takes a good camera & shutter lightening triggers or continuous rapid long exposure settings to catch one.

it’s come to my attention that my tumblr post has been crossposted to bluesky, so I’m posting it on my account here #AntiAI #GenAI
recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best. It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.
