does anyone seriously want to argue that Democrats completely conceding the immigration argument from December 2020-February 2025 didn't cause or at least heavily contribute to this
i’m glad this shift is happening but damn does seeing stuff like this make me realize the average americans genuinely close to braindead

I know it's not the most important thing here but this story also corroborates one of my biggest theories about these tech guys: they do zero hours of work in a day. They do no work no matter how much they claim to work 14 hours a day. They're just on their phones.
Ben Smith lifts up a corner of the plush comforter under which our would-be overlords have been huffing each other's farts for the past few years as they collectively dream their way back to the cutting-edge ideas of the late 19th century www.semafor.com/article/04/2...

Pete Buttigieg enabled Elon Musk to wantonly break the law more than any other agency head, and it's not even close. Had he done his job and not interceded multiple times explicitly on Musk's behalf from 2021-23, Musk would be bankrupt.

Thanks Pete ☺️
I truly believe this is our only real chance. He has remained steadfast, brilliant, and forward-thinking.

Cuomo rehabilitation is so depressing because of all the guys who got MeToo'd out of politics he was probably the guiltiest. he actually got an investigation and the investigation not only verified the public allegations but also found that there were more victims than the press knew about!

The employees that you abuse and sexually harrass will report you and sue you if you (as many have done to Musk) if they can walk out the door and get good jobs elsewhere. If the alternative is the mines, then he's free to do whatever he wants to them.
I am not sure that I have ever seen a post that so fundamentally misunderstands the motivations and skill set of federal employees. Set aside the meaning of "productivity." The federal employees that the Trump administration has sought to remove are not going into manufacturing.

One of the many downsides of the Democratic leadership being primarily composed of septua- and octogenarians is that it’s really hard to get them to consider a victory condition that doesn’t amount to “we go back to our normal schedule and people stop yelling at me.”
One thing the Democrats can do (and don't seem to be doing) is coordinate on/publish a 'here is what we we will do to reverse Trump' set of proposed measures. Republicans made it clear that they would overturn JCPOA, damaging its credibility from outset. Dems should do same for the shitty stuff.
2/ So: If you're a company trying to figure out whether to invest billions in moving manufacturing to the US, one thing you have to consider is that by the time your plant gets built, the thing that would have given it a comparative advantage vanishes.

Again, she tattled on my wife to their boss for refusing to meet her for lunch. Being a snitch is her whole shit.
The origin story of Bari Weiss and The Free Press is that they were fighting for free speech, but the real origin story is that as a student she tried to get Middle Eastern professors fired. They are a snitch organization for the Trump regime.
The president of Columbia agreed to Trump's demands to purge all academic freedom re Palestine but then privately said she'd slow walk them, which immediately leaked to Bari Weiss's outlet, so then the board purged her too

Wrote about how four years of “Fund the Police!” did zero for the Democrats except legitimize GOP talking points, depress Dem voter turnout, hand Trump a well-funded police state, and make the world a crueler, more violent place. An abject failure. theappeal.org/fund-the-pol...
‘Fund the Police’ Backfired—and Gave Trump More Power Than Ever
Democrats spent the last four years running away from police reform and instead chanted "fund the police." They lost.

literally no one, including the democratic party, can imagine the democratic party doing "their version of this stuff." they don't have their own stuff, let alone versions of it
The breadth of these executive orders makes me wonder if Republicans (or GOP leaning law firms, conservative colleges, GOP states with certain voting laws) can't imagine a future in which Dems regain the White House and just do their version of this stuff. Or maybe they assume no more elections?
