Roman bronze dragon’s head standard, AD 190-260.

Originally mounted on a pole, with a long fabric tube attached to the back of the head. When charging on horseback, the wind inflated the tube and the dragon shrieked!

My photo shows a Roman bronze dragon’s head from a military standard carried by Roman cavalry. The head is elongated with open jaws. The top and bottom jaws are lined with sharp triangular teeth. The top of the snout has diagonal ridges. It has a single round eye socket. The rear of the head and neck is textured with scales. At the top of the head there is a short, jagged, fin-like, upright crest. The bronze surface is weathered with greenish and gold patches. It is mounted on a dark stand in a museum display case.

The Lobos beat SDSU this afternoon in double OT for a piece of the MW title. You have to understand how huge this is: it's a new coach who had to recruit 75+ players. The team was picked to finish 11 of 12 teams pre-season. Now they're 9-3, undefeated at home, and knocked off UCLA.
Fans rush the field at University Stadium after The University of New Mexico defeated San Diego State University, earning the Lobos a piece of the MW title. The current Mountain West standings, with New Mexico, San Diego State, and Boise State all tied for first.

This beautiful nerd has finally mastered her potty training and is ready to find her forever home. Scarlett is nearly a year old, about 18 lbs and good with other dogs and with cats. She's gentle and food motivated. New folks make her nervous, but gets used to them quickly. She's a master snuggler.

We had a couple wonderful encounters with Leopards in Kruger Park, SA. This female had finished eating and had just jumped down from a branch, when a Hyena came sniffing around.
I believe the hyena asked if he could have some of her kill, and I’m pretty sure this is a fairly emphatic “NO!”
