The future is still being built. It's just being built through municipal movements like Ahora Madrid and Cooperation Jackson, community gardens and workshops, land trusts, tenant unions, squats, &c, rather than through control of the central state.
in the coming years there will necessarily be a lot of playing defense, but I don't think that's incompatible with a constructive future oriented ethos
