Yet again Trump’s authoritarianism backfires: “Rocket boosters under Talarico’s campaign… 5 million views… $2.5 million in donations…”

Censoring Colbert over a harmless interview with a Dem was an incredible own-goal by Trump's goons because millions more people watched it, it significantly raised Talarico's profile, and made it even harder for anyone to trust CBS, Paramount, and the FCC going forward.

FIRST IN PLAYBOOK: James Talarico’s campaign racked up $2.5 million in donations in the 24 hours after CBS killed his interview on “The Late Show.”

Odd response from Google Gemini when asked to find recent articles or opinion pieces about CBS News. It keeps responding: "I can't help with CBS yet, but I'm still learning.”

Finally, I asked it to explain what the heck that means and it tells me the cause is "a bit of an automated 'brain fart.’"

Colbert: "They know damn well that every word of my script last night was approved by CBS lawyers who, for the record, approved every script that goes on the air."
Stephen Colbert blasted CBS's denial that it blocked the broadcast of his interview with James Talarico,

"I don't even know what to do with this crap." He then pulled a plastic doggy bag from behind his desk, picked up CBS's statement, tied a knot and mimed tossing it before cutting to commercial.

We have the power to do more than just complain about CBS/Paramount. We can use our power by boycotting all companies like CBS that support Trump's fascist agenda! We did that with Disney/ABC and we got Jimmy Kimmel back on the air.

this piece makes some important points including:

1) The FCC hasn't actually changed the late night equal time rules
2) Enforcement of a violation would be very limited usually requiring equal time for the other candidate(s)

Given all that, why did CBS censor Colbert? To keep Trump happy.

Wake up, Democrats. Trump is about to effectively control TikTok, Twitter, CBS, Comedy Central and most likely CNN, HBO and two major movie studios. Where is our leadership to warn these media companies about consequences once we regain the WH?

You’re on social media, so this should concern you.

The U.S. government has been asking platforms like Meta for user data.

You don’t have to be paranoid to see the problem. You just have to be paying attention. If you’re online, this includes you.

2) It suggests we had a soft landing in 2023-4 when everyone denied that then: bsky.app/profile/mcop.... You & I even debated this in Dec 2024, & you suggested I was absurd for suggesting we'd landed:
This got me curious, so data: The Fed's had a formal 2% target since 2012. The current 3-month moving average of deviation from 2% is 0.285.

The mean absolute value of the 2012-24 deviation is 1.19.

There have only been 24 of 155 (15.5%) months where we've ever been <closer> to target than now.

Last night, Juan Nicolás was rushed to the hospital after choking on his own vomit & being unable to breathe.

This demands accountability — not a blank check for more cruelty.
I have an update on Juan Nicolás, the 2-month-old baby detained at Dilley, and his mother.
