I just finished a big project and I’m really proud.
Lost my beloved cat of 15 years last December; between ADD, grief, and sobriety, “decided” to jump into a new hobby.
I wanted to make a coat!
Specifically landed on a Balmacaan made of traditional oilskin. (Lol)
Here’s a thread showing the process!

Hey if anyone can help I'd appreciate it.
Okay, we have a local emergency, with enormous time pressures.

The family I mentioned last night who need the heater?

Well, they are in even more desperate need of a working vehicle.

It's emergent in ways I can't even begin to describe here.

i can’t talk about sports gambling anymore without sounding like a crank but i do believe legalized sports gambling is like 15-20% responsible for our current dystopia
The Athletic polled hundreds of players from across the NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL about their opinions surrounding how sports betting impacts players — the responses were haunting.

Read some trashy old pulp scifi as a kid that had a line somethin like “I had finally come to terms with love and death… the only two things that matter, in the end” and it was striking then. Feels like the absence/warping of both in the world view of Techbros is really makin a hash of our world.
at some point we ought to interrogate the link between the techbro-freak demographic and cowardice in confronting death anxiety. not usually one to go "society has gotten too soft and that's why everyone is weird now" but in this case it feels salient. I think we unlearned how to accept death

In the Zephyr #TTRPG, the Salt States are the main foils of your protagonists. Unlike the reciprocal, horizontal, Obligation-bound societies of the Windfolk, the Salt States exist under a system of debt slavery. However, the evil of the Salt States isn't some ingrained facet of their being...

Reshare: Zephyr is a labor of love, bursting with full-spread illustrations by Federico Sohns. As per their estimate, Sohns would've spent potentially a thousand hours just on the art for the book.

A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

I need Democratic online types to understand that because of this, Newsom is dead to me. Dead. I'd sooner vote for an actual corpse. There is no hope, none, that he'll win me over, *because he has established he is a bad person*. There's no coming back from this. Take my advice and move the fuck on.
1. This morning, California Governor said he was in "complete alignment" with anti-LGBTQ+ hate-influencer Charlie Kirk of TPUSA on transgender sports.

He also conceded on trans inmates and gender affirming care for youth.

It's so much worse than being reported.
