when I was in law school everyone knew that joining the federalist society was like getting tsa precheck for a clerkship
I’m a law prof & a YLS grad and anyone familiar w elite law schools knows it is beyond laughable to describe these places as radicalism hotbeds. Cruz knows this, as does JD Vance. But they assume that their marks are too unsophisticated to know it too. It’s condescending as hell.
Ah yes. Harvard Law School in the early 1990s, well known for its Communist professors.

Dimming the Sun Is a Terrifying New Industry
Solar geoengineering, a bunch of techniques that aim to mask some effects of climate change by blocking sunlight, isn’t on the agenda for this month’s COP30. It ought to be. A record-breaking funding ...

Hi, hello, regarding latest #COP30 text you cannot talk about "information integrity" on climate out one side of your mouth while the other is busy removing "fossil fuel phaseout" & adding "overshoot". anyone who gives a shit about information integrity should be saying so, loudly and clearly.

Between the booths flooding and a fire breaking out in the Blue Zone, feels like maybe someone is trying to tell us something at #COP30
BREAKING: COP30 Blue Zone venue is being evacuated after a firealarm was triggered. Smoke visible.

This is COMPLETELY INSANE.

In addition to the environmental and labour violations, EIGHTY-FIVE times as much land is needed to power an ICE car on corn ethanol compared to the land needed for solar PV panels to power an EV car.

As #COP30 races to be the CDR COP, great time to listen to a podcast about overshoot and how little sense it makes.
“Occidental Petroleum put out a press release claiming they had produced the world's first zero-carbon barrel of oil.”

Love the way @greenprofgreen.bsky.social frames the fetishization of collaboration at COP as something that tries to impose a "win-win" frame on a situation in which there must be a loser...failing to grapple with that puts humanity--rather than fossil asset owners--at risk of losing. #COP30

Instead, she's raising bills to build Trump's fracked gas pipeline and a crypto mine.
