if i got a penny each time Ruby Sunday ends up in a rural village with a promising plot that then gets suddenly abandoned and the rest of the episode becomes a poorly executed political commentary then i'd have two pennies, which isn't a lot, but it's strange that it's happened twice now #DoctorWho

This is why I still think that the internet, not the issues, are the root cause of this culture war. People (including journalists…who are people) imagine the loudest, angriest positions as default positions because those are the ones that get eyeballs in an ultra-competitive attention economy.
“Supporters of inclusion view those who hesitate or have questions as bigots.” that’s not fucking true. we keep explaining how transition and athletics works BECAUSE we believe people who don’t know will mostly come around once they do know! if we thought they were all bigots we wouldn’t try!!
NYT actually published this sentence, which asks us to take baseless moral panic bullshit seriously as a reasonable position.

Supporters of the Holocaust considered Jews to be subhuman saboteurs of German society, too. So fucking what??

Please read this. Please make noise about it. The UK government is paying thieves to tell them how taxpayer money might be used to help them steal. If we’re going to defeat this, we need to make corruption shameful again.

Just saw a no-longer relevant evacuation notice on instagram from five hours ago and remembered — that’s right, due to hyper-monetization every major social network no longer shows you life-saving breaking news as it happens.

They turned it over to an algorithm that finally noticed “he likes fire.”

Don't ever use AI, even (and especially) as a joke to show how AI is terrible.
“In order to shoot off one email per week for a year, ChatGPT would use up 27 liters of water, or about one-and-a-half jugs… that means if one in 10 U.S. residents—16 million people—asked ChatGPT to write an email a week, it’d cost more than 435 million liters of water.”
AI doesn’t just require tons of electric power. It also guzzles enormous sums of water.
