Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

As a stimulus spend to keep the economy chugging, it’s hard to image a worse money pit. A lot of the money is spent on power consumption and just evaporates. More is spent on limited-purpose GPUs that have a short service life, spent producing slop that pollutes the internet and poisons minds.

Perhaps if Sean Duffy did his job, then people wouldn't find themselves stranded in airports and therefore wouldn't need to wear PJs and slippers in the likely event that they might have to spend the night sleeping on the dirty floor between a public restroom and a Hudson News kiosk

An example: Colorado anti-discrimination law protects gender identity and expression, and misgendering/deadnaming is now explicitly designated as evidence of discrimination. My understanding is that this puts misgendering on similar legal footing with racial slurs.
