Some of the Platner coverage/discourse is making me feel insane. Whatever game you want to play in terms of "true intentions" behind symbols, this particular symbol is unambiguous in its meaning. The Totenkopf is not open to speculative interpretation! It does not "resemble" a Nazi icon, it is one!

The Platner stuff reminds me of the Kavanaugh confirmation, because of the sneering at the idea that we should have high standards for a man who wants to be one of the most powerful people in the country.

Just amazing that, as things worsen week after week, the nation’s most powerful court keeps proceeding as though the gravest threat to our democracy is district courts failing to get out of the President’s way.

in 2023, Miller and Vought were ranting about how weak and squishy the Federalist Society lawyers were. They were going to have none of those legal types who followed the law this time

John Roberts broke the appropriations process and made any deal impossible. What Roberts doesn't understand is that there are benefits to allowing someone to legally bind themselves!

The Supreme Court's Republican appointees sound ready to transform the 14th and 15th Amendments into a weapon against the very racial minorities they were meant to protect—handing Republicans 15-19 additional House seats in the process. A disaster for democracy.

The more mockery there is before the actual violence, the better. If the public sees months of ICE brutality and chicken suits, then suddenly there are shootings, it's going to be hard to pin that on the chicken suit guys.

Trump and Miller will probably get the blood in the streets they want eventually. We don’t know when or how it will unfold, or how the public will come to perceive it. But we do know that no matter how it unfolds or is perceived, it is already their fault. All we can do is our best.
It'll Be Trump's Fault
Donald Trump created this unstable equilibrium; no matter how it breaks down, it will be his fault.

Legitimately disgusting that were getting legal rigging of elections and nobody cares in the media or the electorate. This is not that functionally different than tossing out thousands of votes to help your side win.
North Carolina Republicans announced today they’re going to pass a new congressional map to draw a Dem out of Congress; they already did last cycle, going from 7-7 to 10-4. Thus would be 11-3. t.co/XLJIhe8vZn

There have to be consequences. Not just for the masked goons snatching people off the street. For the elites issuing the orders, the justices giving them the green light...
We have armed secret police kidnapping people off the street based on the color of their skin.

When we win: we will haul them before a Senate committee. The masks will come off. There will be consequences.

His channel, MeidasTouch, puts out 15 videos a day exposing Republican failings – and it is getting bigger audiences than Joe Rogan’s. Is this the champion the American left has been waiting for?

Public funding of elections, then instead of giving mostly-ceremonial ambassadorships to big donors, we give them to elderly Senators.
We need a Senator Emeritus role where they still get to go to events and feel important but that gives them a graceful retirement route

Most Dem ads go to local TV news. They are putting billions of dollars in the pockets of Fox, Sinclair, Nexstar, etc!
