I try to remember that while they were fighting the ban on gender affirming care for minors here, one of the (trans) lawyers did a thread reminding folks that they're really good at making this feel like an overwhelming groundswell, but it is one clown car of debunked experts on a road trip.

it's jolting how little AI skepticism has reached the general public. i've had many acquaintances ask whether i use AI for research and seem shocked when i tell them it's completely useless for that purpose. my wife recently told her colleagues about hallucinations and it was news to all of them.

I was out for recess duty this afternoon, and a kiddo came up to me, put a ribbon on my (mittened) hand, and said “you’re a present!”

It was super cute, and helped make up for the fact that I had to break up a fight between a couple of kindergarten kids a couple of minutes later. 😂
