There's a lot of recriminations flying around about past Trump impeachments and I would just like humbly to suggest we consider ways to force the removal from power of Stephen Miller. Could we impeach him? Defund his position? Bar him any access to legal authority? What tools can we conjure up here?
It’s astounding how much damage Miller has done — morally, economically, safety-wise — because he can’t stand brown people. We are so much worse off bc of him. And yes, there’s much blame to go around - Trump, Vance, Noem, etc. - but Miller is the heart of it (ironic since he seems to lack one).
Immigrant-hating Stephen Miller talks about Americans being "first to harness the atom." But the first controlled, self-sustaining nuclear chain reaction was conducted by a team led by Italian immigrant Enrico Fermi, who didn't become a U.S. citizen until a year and a half later.

Still unreported, should be investigated:

ICE shot Richard outside a mall. I visited mall security office. Guard said ICE and LAPD came in, used thumb drive to copy mall’s video footage, and THEN DELETED THE EVIDENCE from mall’s local drives. He showed me the missing timeline part saying “no data.”
Huge win for Richard Noticias LA, TikTok journalist shot by ICE. Criminal charges dismissed with prejudice, meaning can’t be refiled.

ICE did him DIRTY. Repeatedly. Inhumane treatment, basically medical torture.

Still in ICE custody on immigration case. They owe him unconditional release.

An exceptionally stupid and contingent set of circumstances made Stephen Miller the most influential ideologue in the US. There is no future for the left or liberalism that does not take as a core mission ensuring he is punished for his crimes & no one as hateful as him is ever close to power again.

Underlying this was that Pelosi / Dem leadership immediately gave up on pursuing Jan 6 impeachment as a serious attempt to obtain conviction. No Republican managers was another aspect of that. Delaying the Senate trial was another.

Maybe would have failed anyway, but they decided not to really try.
I’m sorry, this is just not correct. There were members that wanted to impeach Trump on Jan. 6.

Many people said if you waited, GOP outrage would fade. It did.

Pelosi spent days only cautiously committing to impeach, and fussing around with absurd stuff like 25th Amendment remedies.
McConnell adjourned the senate for two weeks the next day. There was no slow walk and this idea that republicans could have been tricked into being good but we just decided not to is giving them an out they don’t deserve.

To us who have been homeless, such brazen discrimination is routine. This society has nothing but contempt for us -- it sentences us to death by a thousand cuts.
What was most chilling about this exchange was the sheer casualness of "because of our homeless population," as if those experiencing homelessness were *obviously* people to be kept out.

Calling out a fascist for taking a hypocritical position is easy. It's also a complete waste of time. Fascist rhetoric is aesthetics— pathos, never logos.

You'll never get anywhere pointing out a fascist's hypocrisy. Fascism is not to be debated, it's to be smashed. Get comfortable using power.

Prison guards:

- Watched a woman experiencing psychosis gouge out her own eyeballs.

- Ignored a man’s beeping insulin pump for more than 24 hours before he died.

- Left a man sitting in his own feces not eating for weeks, he lost 60 lbs before he died.

All in San Diego County, last ~5 years.

It's like people need to be told that everything's gonna be sunny & alright with the empire because that's what they need to believe to hang on & they shame you as a doomer for noticing it's crumbling. Shit is bad & on a logical trajectory to get worse. You can buck up to survive it, though.

When you hear what pretty much anyone who's survived psychiatric incarceration can tell you from their experience it will horrify you because it's hidden to most, & I want it to come to light.
Geeze. That is beyond despicable. A complete and utter violation of your privacy on top of everything else.

The Biden DOJ had a perfectly legal avenue to release this to the public—a response to a FOIA request. They may have even been legally obligated to produce it in response to the FOIA request. And they decided not to, to protect Donald Trump’s reputation? What?
Found the Associated Press article where the existence of this letter was first disclosed two years ago, in response to a FOIA request

It's definitely real

Trump is also not the only rapist America thought was good enough to be its president. Almost zero chance any slaveholding president wasn't raping his slaves, with good ole Thomas Jefferson providing the best documentation of that.

People who constantly say stuff like "you can't let the perfect be the enemy of the good; you have to bite your tongue and support the lesser of two evils" about - say - elections in Western countries seldom seem to apply that logic to "Hamas Vs the IDF" where Hamas is unambiguously the lesser evil.

In case you're unclear on what JD Vance is trying to do here maybe it will help to recall Italian writer Ignazio Silone's 1938 description of what fascism is:

“Fascism is a counter-revolution against a revolution that never took place.”

I try not to call people stupid or dumb although sometimes I let it slip, it's ableist because it's actual slurs for disabled people, & also it's weak in argument. So what they said fits into a neat handy category of being automatically discardable, but you haven't done the work of knowing why.
It’s why you should probably refrain from calling people “stupid”, “dumb”, etc…

It is not only ableist, but you are also doing the system of racism a favor.

There’s so many words and phrases to challenge someone who may be showing themselves to be intellectually divested in the moment.
