People are talking about those who directly lost family which yes are absolutely the hardest hit but we also forget the other part. That even if you didn’t directly lose people, the fear that you COULD lose your loved ones or even your own life was extremely traumatizing on its own!
Every time Covid and learning loss hits the news, people act like the only factor is folk staying home and learning online, rather than… Living through a global mass death event.

All those McMansions in Chatham Co. Folks buying up all the rental properties in Carrboro. Downtown Raleigh real estate. Must all be being bought by the folks working minimum wage jobs in the restaurant kitchens or installing fiber along our roads. Makes perfect sense

I cannot begin to properly articulate how upsetting it is to have had people baselessly accuse trans people of being groomers and pedophiles only for it to come out that they were deliberately doing this as part of a project to provide cover to actual groomers and pedophiles in positions of power

if you cant go in to the office 3 days a week then you really can't complain when cities are hollowed out. cities are places where ppl work and network. getting rid of that makes cities useless
