made a similar point on the opinions podcast this week in response to the idea that epstein is a dead end. not only are actual voters interested in this but it divides the gop and puts pressure on the president. it would be political malpractice to treat it as a sideshow
The usual suspects are telling Dems that Epstein won’t win elections, get back to “affordability” and I think my head might explode. www.offmessage.net/p/force-a-re...
Force A Referendum On The Epstein Coverup
It divides Republicans much more than "affordability" or any other economic issue.

Universities spend gazillions on EdTech software that doesn’t serve faculty or student interests and often doesn’t work well. But what if we got off that path and leveraged internal resources to produce non-profit systems? Here’s a proposal to leverage the CUNY systems platforms.
"Christopher Newfield called for academics to 'seize the means of knowledge production' by working 'step by step ... toward direct control of universities.' ... I think the most imperative, but also the most apparent pressure point for academics looking to act upon his call is education technology."

He doesn't seem to have had the temperment for the job if the job was really about public safety and not public terror
Listen to this Border Patrol agent cry about how he's going to be DOXXED after being arrested for drunkenly barging into a woman's restroom with a loaded gun, demanding a date from the woman inside, and then punching the arresting officers.

Looking at these pictures of Ruby Bridges, and thinking about how moving it is to see how tiny and vulnerable she is.

And, I'm thinking about our language and culture around trauma, and how on a personal level it often feels lacking for me.

Yeah it really backfired. We’re reeling. That’s why we were up all night trashing some of our closest former allies on social media, ordering investigations by DOJ of our enemies, delaying a flight to Palm Beach to rant and rave in the WH, while generally melting down. Libs in disarray.

I am so so sorry that Alice Wong has left. I didn’t know her well, but I knew her for a long time and had many convos - and her words, her advocacy, and her humor meant so much for so many. And in classic Alice fashion she generously left us all a note. Safe travels, @sfdirewolf.bsky.social. 一路走好

this is what downplaying infectious disease on a societal level gets you. companies/ C-suites that believe they have the god-given right to kill your baby and face zero consequences and also continue to kill more babies
On the ByHeart formula recall: “I have never seen a company so aggressively fight to deny the evidence against them," @cspinet.org's Sarah Sorscher said. Why food safety experts are alarmed by the company's response to the infant botulism outbreak:

Those claiming Dems should retreat on racial justice aren't hard-headed realists, they're pushing against the electoral tide rather than leaning into it. The story of Gen Z isn't about racist backlash or red-pilled young men. It's the most racially progressive generation in American history. 🧵

When a far right pundit on a CNN panel with me ‘joked’ about my beeper going off live on air & then got banned by CNN, Megyn Kelly had him on her show & they both laughed about it.

Yet here is Kelly getting super offended when someone else makes the beeper threat against her. Oh, the hypocrisy.
