Love when people claim that stories about gay men don't need to worry about including good (or any) female characters, bc that implies that women have no place in men's lives unless they're there as sexual or romantic partners.

It’s the exact same trick they pulled with bigotry. And a lot of people accepted that premise, that people pointing out bigotry are worse than bigots and should be the ones punished. And so now we’re moving on to the next stage of that.
conservatives are more angry about the coverage of the murder than the murder itself because JD and all these nazis think killing people who oppose them is good and they want to do it more without the pushback

If you have your heart set on a specific relationship the show isn't doing, exploring it in meta and fic is so much more rewarding than letting canon do a half-assed job of it. Look at how many canon relationships (platonic and romantic) it fucked up! Look how many people died!

I did NOT meet my fannish NY resolution this year (to learn to make fanvids), so I'm rolling it over to next year. That, and to post another chapter on at least 1 of my ongoing WiPs (I have 3 that are actually partially posted: Ephemerides, my MfU soulmate fic, and my Dune pre-canon AU).
