It's ridiculous that anyone reporting on Twitter gets multiple "THAT'S WHY YOU SHOULDN'T BE ON TWITTER" responses. People reporting so those of us not there are aware of the illegal activities endorsed by the man who deeply infiltrated the US government is good actually.

On the one hand: my sleep hygiene this break has been exceptionally poor.

LRP Many outlets are figuring out ways to attribute Mamdani's decisions that have nothing to do with Judaism to antisemitism. (Like, "whether or not it's intentional, this could be read as problematic on a symbolic level" type critiques.) This feels so dangerous to me.

I keep getting like three sentences into political news and then noping the fuck out. I respect all the very smart people trying to explain what's happening, but it seems like what's happening is intentionally chaotic in the hopes that it will sap us dry as we try to make sense of it.

I'm actively mad at how on the nose "Mamdani gets sworn in on a book that has his real beliefs and contains real meaning for him, but it isn't the cultural default, so people are pissed off about it" is as a representation of his entire candidacy so far.
Strange takes on Mayor Zamdani swearing his oath on the Qu’ran. It has nothing to do with church & state. The point of the oath is for the person swearing in to do so upon some text that is sacred TO THEM. Some Presidents swore in w/o any book. John Quincy Adams was sworn on a law book. His choice.
