Amy, queer cis Jew, she/her. Kidlit, reality TV, lady superheroes, lit theory, collage. All the #BlackWidow feelings. Watched 1400+ Law & Order episodes in a year. I'm sorry for who I am during Big Brother season. Asthma, TMJ, and #ActuallyOCD. So tired.
I lasted til 6:30 before taking a nap which means I'm basically a superhero and also that I should be able to get through work tomorrow.

It's ridiculous that anyone reporting on Twitter gets multiple "THAT'S WHY YOU SHOULDN'T BE ON TWITTER" responses. People reporting so those of us not there are aware of the illegal activities endorsed by the man who deeply infiltrated the US government is good actually.

On the one hand: my sleep hygiene this break has been exceptionally poor.

On the other hand: What if my sleep cycle just naturally lends itself to an impractical and inconsistent schedule? what then?

LRP Many outlets are figuring out ways to attribute Mamdani's decisions that have nothing to do with Judaism to antisemitism. (Like, "whether or not it's intentional, this could be read as problematic on a symbolic level" type critiques.) This feels so dangerous to me.

Mamdani rescinded every executive order issued by Eric Adams after Adams's indictment, but still the "New York Times" is focusing exclusively on two of those orders that had to do with Israel.

There is someone singling out Israel here. And it isn't Zohran Mamdani.

For the record I encountered the absolute worst take on Trump's illegal invasion of a foreign country last night, so the rest of you can give it a rest, the crown has already been claimed.

I was thinking my increased neck/back pain was because work is starting up again but then I remembered I have been utterly ignoring my obnoxious cervical pillow since I found my Christmasy pillow cases and have been propping myself up on a festive sleepy throne. Dammit Amy.

Imagine being the person brave enough to leak this in the hopes that media attention could stop it and then the media just……buries it.
NEW: Plans for secret U.S. raid to capture Maduro leaked to the Washington Post and New York Times before it happened, but both decided not to publish to protect U.S. troops - Semafor

If you really think about it, all important news is just a distraction from Traitors season 4 coverage.

In the wake of all the news coming out of the US and the amount of shouting at the TV I've done, I thought everyone else might benefit from one of my favourite photos from 2017 to break up the doom scrolling.

I cannot fix the big things, so here's a small thing.

I watched the pilots of both Twin Peaks and Once Upon a Time. I am still unsure what to watch.
Does anyone have strong opinions on whether I should watch Once Upon a Time or Twin Peaks next?

If you tell me that this is a distraction from the Epstein files I will block you into last week.

For fuck's sake, people in other countries are actual human beings who do not deserve to be murdered. They are deserving of our attention and care. Their violent deaths should not be on our hands.

I keep getting like three sentences into political news and then noping the fuck out. I respect all the very smart people trying to explain what's happening, but it seems like what's happening is intentionally chaotic in the hopes that it will sap us dry as we try to make sense of it.

On the left: Musk supporting an openly racist white nationalist tweet.

On the right: a recent post by that same account about Jews.

The worldview Musk holds is by definition both racist and antisemitic. The two are tied together. As is the case for white nationalists at large.

In an attempt to force myself to get up I have spent the past five minutes throwing all blankets and pillows out of my bed. I am in a standoff against myself and somehow, I am losing.

I'm actively mad at how on the nose "Mamdani gets sworn in on a book that has his real beliefs and contains real meaning for him, but it isn't the cultural default, so people are pissed off about it" is as a representation of his entire candidacy so far.
Strange takes on Mayor Zamdani swearing his oath on the Qu’ran. It has nothing to do with church & state. The point of the oath is for the person swearing in to do so upon some text that is sacred TO THEM. Some Presidents swore in w/o any book. John Quincy Adams was sworn on a law book. His choice.
