Americans won't be thrilled with me saying this, but it's probable that the Boston tea party followed a similar strategy from rich Bostonian businessmen. These "businessmen" did not want to pay taxes the UK needed to reinforce colonial troops defending against French incursions. Same old story.
Past is prologue.

In 1933, during the Great Depression, a group of wealthy businessmen tried to overthrow the US government and install a fascist dictator to protect their own interests.

And everything that led to it feels way too familiar right now.

This is not a history lesson, it’s a warning.

Julie nails the problem here. The press lets him get away with this shit all the time, showing zero support for each other. It's what has allowed him and the White House to just lie and insult people with impunity. Shame on all of them. This is absurd.
I just watched the whole video, and not a single reporter stood up for her. Everyone just pivoted to asking questions on other topics.

This is shameful.
When asked if there was anything "incriminating" in Epstein's emails, Trump pointed a finger in a female reporter's face and snapped. 'Quiet. Quiet, Piggy.'

The people responsible this should NEVER again be accepted in polite American society.

At best, they should all rot in prison. At best.
I know I shouldn't swear, it is not professorial or polite, but fucking hell this administration is beyond evil. Paul Bojerski spent 7 decades here in the US, worked as an optician, and now, at the age of 79, he has been kidnapped & placed in a US concentration camp where his health is at risk.
79-year-old Paul Bojerski was born to Polish parents in a WWII German refugee camp. His family legally emigrated to the U.S. when he was 5.

He’s been taken by ICE in Florida.

Wow. How am I not surprised.
“When the Border Patrol was created in 1924, white supremacists entered the agency, building the culture of xenophobia and impunity that exists to this day … CBP agents are arrested for criminal activity and corruption at a per-capita rate that exceeds any other federal agency.”

Let us be incredibly, abundantly clear:

We are demanding that Chuck Schumer resign for his continued betrayal of the American people.

If he does not willingly step aside, we are calling on the Senators in the Dem caucus to remove him and Dick Durbin from Senate leadership.

Starvation kills people quicker than lack of health care, true. I still don't think it's reason to cave.

As long as Dems held out, this was all on the rapist and his ball-lickers. Now Dems are complicit.

(Depose and Deport Schumer and the 8.)
instead of saying this was good strategy, maybe senate dems should say: "the republicans were going to kill people by starving them to death, and because we aren't monsters, we decided to let this fight go. We'll keep fighting. Stop electing monsters."

It shouldn't be possible for Brandon Johnson to hold a press conference without demands to explain this photo and what happened to this sergeant.
Happening now: a small demonstration is getting underway in front of Chicago Police Department HQ, protesting cooperation between CPD and federal immigration agents.

One demonstrator is holding up a photo of Border Patrol Chief Greg Bovino shaking hands with a CPD officer.

I wouldn't recognize this jagoff if I saw him, I expect nobody else does either.

Which is probably why nobody shouted "GET THE FUCK OUT OF OUR AIRPORT YOU FUCKING NAZI JAGOFF!" while the camera was live, as he deserved.

Tesla shareholders should do everything they can to get this guy removed. He can only lead them to disaster. Drop him on an island with a free Optimus that lets him believe he's still CEO, but he can't hurt anyone.

Or have it lead him into a volcano, whatever works best.

The Edmund Fitzgerald had a known, severe, structural defect in its keel. Its sister ship had the same defect and was retired and scrapped shortly after this disaster.
On this day, 50 years ago, the Edmund Fitzgerald left a mill near Duluth destined for Detroit. The "gales of November" thought otherwise and stopped her trip near Whitefish Bay. The bells will ring 30 times tomorrow at the Maritime Museum in Detroit
