We do not celebrate the achievements of that generation of immigrants to the UK nearly enough. Baron @alfdubs.bsky.social comes to mind, or Sir Peter Hirsch. They have enriched British society in numerous ways.
This reflects quite well how tribalism works. If you hear in the news that your tribal leader claims something and that the other side refutes that claim, you will - to some extent - stick to your tribal leader. There's some great literature on the point... /2

This is quite interesting - the conflicts that Trump creates by randomly claiming the territory of allies and not excluding going to war to get it end up creating actual enmity not just on the side of those whose territory is claimed - but by those that follow US news. /1

I have a question here: short of identifying the source of his wealth how can we know if this was an influence operation - or a group of incredibly wealthy and powerful people who regard states as annoying or worse their toys?
