And I think he did great work with media but honestly nothing had me saying "oh wow communicator of a generation."
No. He's likeable, he's decent, his policies are popular, he has a campaign work ethic.
Maybe most importantly: he obviously had competent staff and obviously listened to them.

The thing about Mamdani is that he’s a talented politician but not otherworldly or one in a billion, he’s just a competent guy with popular ideas who ran against an entitled piece of shit and to me it’s a lot more optimistic to imagine 1000 campaigns like his than to view him as a unique phenomenon

Honestly, I'm pretty sure an alien could come down from space and sound less out of touch than he does.
INGRAHAM: Is a 50 year mortgage really a good idea?
TRUMP: It's not even a big deal. You go from 40 to 50 years. All it means is you pay less per month

The red outlined weekdays are the days the House is not in session/working.

I know this is an obvious and old point, but it still shocks me how quickly the culture of the GOP has come to defined by the absurd personality type of the "toad-licking, ass kissing alpha." Amazing that they've built an audience that finds such deportment appealing, rather than disqualifying.

Oh that sounds fun. I’m always looking for *more opportunities to talk to insurance providers.
Trump: "I want the money to go into an account for people where they buy their own health insurance. It's so good. The insurance will be better. It'll cost less. Everybody is gonna be happy. They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs. They're actually able to go out & negotiate their own insurance"

We should start by taking healthcare away from Republican members of Congress, since they feel it’s a “fake economy” anyway
Comer: "This is a fake economy. You can't have 1/3 of America receiving some type of free government healthcare and then have another 1/3 that's getting a subsidized rate. That falls on the final 1/3 that's having to pay increased premiums."

The y/y rate of inflation the month Trump took office was +3.0%. The y/y rate of inflation in September was +3.0%. In what universe is this “down”?
COLLINS: When Trump says grocery prices are down, what numbers is he basing that off given it's not true?
HASSETT: Inflation is down
C: But grocery prices are up
H: Not everything. Egg prices are down. Why haven't you covered egg prices?
C: We certainly have. But grocery prices are up about 1.4%

If Durbin weren't retiring, he would be primaried, and he would lose.
Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

Durbin is @schumer.senate.gov's #2. He is the party whip. When Dick was saying in public 40 days ago he would accept a "pinky promise" deal, he was saying Schumer (i.e. Senate Democrats) would accept it.
Worth noting Dick Durbin is not on an island on this pinky promise path of surrender. Shaheen floated the same path just a week ago. Bunch of gutless Dems in Schumer’s surrender caucus want this.
good lord, dick durbin wants democrats to give up their only remaining leverage this year for an *informal commitment* from republicans. www.semafor.com/article/09/2...

This is exactly correct.
Assume all the yes and no votes from Dem senators are strategic and not sincere votes. The party caucus made a decision. No way to know how many were in favor. Then the caucus decided who would vote yes and no based on what would protect each of them politically the most. That’s how this works.
