When I got the contract to write a history of concentration camps in 2014, I hoped to keep the US from ending up here. That didn't work out! But now it's critical to understand how much is already in process and the enormity of what's coming. The sooner we act to stop it, the more people we'll save.

i think a lot of people who are not in minnesota and/or are stuck in mainstream media bubbles don’t understand how little actual immigration status matters right now. none of this is “immigration enforcement” in any practical sense, and the media either doesn’t know or is choosing not to tell them.
journalists need to stop saying “immigration enforcement” and start saying “ethnic cleansing.” DHS and ICE are forgoing immigration laws and procedures; they are abducting anyone who looks latino/hispanic. the facts are extremely clear that this is a white supremacist ethnic cleansing project.

Also expressing anger doesn’t feel empowering for me; I think that’s a product of having a body that codes both Black and male. I actually get MORE anxious bc I’m waiting for my anger to code as a threat. And I don’t get relief when that’s not how I’m responded to because the potential still exists
