“COVID-19 has caused many Olympians and other athletes to miss important competitions and games in their careers; others have competed while actively infected. During the 2024 summer Olympics, runner Noah Lyles competed two days after being diagnosed with COVID-19 and collapsed at the end of a race”

The risks of SARS-CoV-2 and other airborne pathogens can be severe, but the media continues to stigmatize Olympians taking precautions as "worried" and "extreme". We know #LongCOVID can affect anyone, even elite athletes.

Notice how the popular media narrative has moved on, while people on the ground in Minneapolis are still struggling and crying out that things are as bad as ever. This is how fascist regimes operate — overreach, recalibration, normalization. Get louder, not quieter.

Shut the kid up.

“what we’re witnessing is…on the scale of the larger concentration camp systems in history—the Soviet Gulag, the Nazi concentration camps, & Chinese labor camps…The admin is actively aspiring to a system of that magnitude to reshape society to its racial, political & cultural prefs for generations”
When I got the contract to write a history of concentration camps in 2014, I hoped to keep the US from ending up here. That didn't work out! But now it's critical to understand how much is already in process and the enormity of what's coming. The sooner we act to stop it, the more people we'll save.

I wonder if the work I’ve been doing in service of preparing myself and others for this crossroads

will need to change

now that we are in the middle of the intersection and the world is spinning

it might not need to change

But it absolutely might change b/c fates are shifting dramatically

Time has been running out.

Extraction is now feasting on corpses like vultures.

An old world is dying-

what role can you serve in building a new one?
What seeds do you hope to plant in a new world, or hope someone else will plant for you?

Do that.
Do that with your whole heart.

I’ve been saying this over and over since 2016 (responding to personal and collective threats)

Now is the time to be who you mean to be.

Now is the time.

Think about that deeply.

What does it mean to choose your role in this moment.

What is your inner mandate?

So much of what’s happening - not only in the U.S., but around the world - right now, comes down to men desperate to stay in power in order to stay out of prison.

It’s the increasing desperation that’s becoming more and more dangerous.
