Wait... "The Lowdown" takes place in Oklahoma?

Now I have to watch.
"I have a real soft spot for Oklahoma. But even if I’d never stepped foot there, I would still admire writer-director Sterlin Harjo’s new show for the genuineness, quirkiness, humor, and melancholy lying beneath its Sooner State clay." www.thebulwark.com/p/the-lowdow...

“I know this is out there but this search won’t let me find it, by design” is so frustrating!

Like damn I’ve worked on a reference desk in the past, I know how to make and tinker with a search string. Y’all just don’t want people to find it bc some asshole somewhere is making money this way
I like how full text search of every book and human thought ever was a SOLVED PROBLEM in 2001, and now dicks at search engines and my own phone – a piece of silicon faster to respond than God was ever imagined in scripture – prevent it from working, _as a retroactive infantilizing design choice_.

"Computers [and phones] became an A/B tested telemetry-based advertising conduit to brains for SaaS recurring revenue."
Computers were a skill. They were taught in classrooms as a skill. Skills give you power over your tools because you work them as an expert and that is leverage to multiply externally.

And then computers became an A/B tested telemetry-based advertising conduit to brains for SaaS recurring revenue.

This is so cool: Copper, which makes induction stoves with li-ion batteries integrated, is going to build *10,000* of these suckers for use in New York public housing.

Better cooking, easier cleaning, grid resiliency built in. Win win win.

You can disagree and argue as much as you like but the point of evaluating something scientifically is that not every statement should be given equal credence because evidence matters
JD Vance: "Science as practiced in its best form is that if you disagree with it, then you ought to criticize it and you ought to argue against it."

Went out to Lake Thunderbird just east of Norman, OK, but no red glow tonight.

Had cars coming in every 20-30 seconds though.

Yeah, man, because putting all the people who need expensive care in one pool has never blown up in an unsustainable, out of control spiral every time it's been tried.

Even going down this road should get you yanked by a huge hook or sucked down a trap door you didn't know was there.
Tom Emmer: "You're gonna have to create high risk pools again. Just go back where Minnesota was before the ACA."
