Fillmore says he’s focussed on eliminating non-core services & transit is one of them.

He doesn’t support it however because he says it wont bring affordability and they don’t have the money. Fuck the poors who take the bus I guess?

I had to drive a car in downtown Halifax today, and it was the worst experience I've had in the 2 years since moving here.

Anyone who wants to bring MORE cars into the peninsula is insane #ZeroVisionHFX

I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

One of the richest men in the world fired them from the paper and didn’t even pay to ensure they got home.

This is bleak: Jes Staley, currently CEO of Barclays, reassuring Epstein that popular revolt against financial elites is unlikely because capitalism and pop culture have defanged social movements, leaving people more invested in consumption than justice.

"During the last 12 years of construction on the bike lane network, Halifax spent $900 million on road maintenance."

We are optimizing spending on a small fraction of our budget while ignoring the largest part? That's doing the most work for the least gain.

Yeah for people not up to date on the back story, the conservative war on "Gender Ideology" actually started as a response to Gender Theory, and specifically the impact of Judith Butler's "Gender Trouble" at the United Nations summit for women in 1995.
This is more directly about trans people but "gender ideology" has always kind of meant "the abominal idea that men and women can be equal"

In the far flung Northern suburbs of Calgary, a man stopped his vehicle to talk to me. His eyes wistful, he told me how as a kid his dad had a bicycle like mine, and they both rode it to do odd jobs around St. Johns. How seeing me took him back.

I am so grateful for this shared moment.
