If you want to stop illegal drug use would you only go after the users and ignore the dealers? That's what we do with our oil and gas addiction. Canada is an oil and gas dealer and we are ignoring the role we are playing newsinteractives.cbc.ca/features/202...
Canada’s uncounted emissions
Canada doesn’t count emissions from its oil and gas exports. So we did.

Reading life after cars, they describe how responsibility of the death of a pedestrian was shifted from systems to the individual. Makes me wonder, if my safety as a pedestrian is my responsibility, does that then give me the right to install bollards on my street to keep me and my family safe?

"What's behind the pullback on policy and why is Canadian progress on tackling climate change so slow? Put simply, it’s because climate action threatens the profits of the fossil-fuel industry, and they’ve spent the past 50 years doing everything they can to prevent it."
Fossil-fuel propaganda is stalling climate action. Here’s what we can do about it.
New research highlights the role of fossil-fuel industry propaganda and suggests strategies to tackle false narratives about fossil fuels.

Our federal government has given up on doing the right thing and instead letting the rich plunder our future.
12 ways Carney has weakened Canada's climate policy since his election:
And do not imagine, Canadian media, that we we have missed you all publishing various polls saying that 59% of us no longer prioritize a liveable planet in order to manufacture consent for this.

I just did a carbon footprint calculator. I bike everywhere and fly little so my transportation emissions were low. We use electricity to heat our home but I am stuck with dirty electricity from n.s. power. At the end it asked me how I felt, but none of the options it gave were angry.

#BikeHFX I was biking the south park bike lane yesterday, it was fully blocked by a delivery truck. I have a picture of the truck with license clearly sitting in the lane. Thinking about reporting it to the delivery company. Is this something useful to do, should I report somewhere else?

Just biked through Allen St. up to Oxford. Saw some diagonal diverter shaped markings on the pavement. I think I heard that this will be tactical. Hope that doesn't mean it will be removed for snow clearing around... now-ish like we have been doing with flex posts and on-street bike parking?

Absolutely!
If a member of Canadian parliament meets with a fossil fuel lobbyist they should be required to meet with a renewable energy lobbyist for the same amount of time

The most recent What on Earth podcast describes how Canada's federal gov. is bowing to the oil and gas industry and allowing and helping to fund the destruction of our climate. I am so disappointed in our country. They don't need PP anymore now that the have Carney.:

US politicians wonder why Canadian's don't want to come to the US nearly as much as before. More than the 51st state talk, more than tariffs, more than blaming us for illegal drugs, we are simply scared to.
If I'm your biggest problem right now you can get fucked 👍

They blame people for feeding them, but the fox was killed by a car. I see so much road kill along highways. Were all those animals fed by humans? I saw a fox dead in the road, it reminded me of my beloved dog in the back seat of my car, and I imagined how sad I would be if she was killed by a car.

Maybe we should start seriously figuring out how we can avoid driving as much as possible. We are killing children and destroying the life support system for all future generations. Perhaps maybe we can drive less?

If you live in a major city, your mayor is almost certainly aware of @annehidalgo.bsky.social's record.

If they're deciding not to follow her lead, that decision is a deliberate one.
Over 800km of new bike paths, pedestrian zones, school streets, 200,000 new trees, a 40% reduction in traffic, a 40% reduction in emissions, and a plan for a carbon neutral Paris by 2050. There is nothing stopping other city leaders from being this bold.
“One of Hidalgo’s most transformative achievements has been her push to reduce car dominance in Paris, a city historically shaped by automotive culture. Since 2014, her administration has added over 1,300 kilometers (800 miles) of bike lanes, making cycling a viable and safe option for commuters.”
