I’m so angry and so so so sad. I don’t want a pipeline. FEED CHILDREN. Feed people.

“Iqaluit pediatrician Dr. Sindu Govindapillai, executive director of the Arctic Children and Youth Foundation, called the situation, “the worst food-security crisis I have seen.””
“Some of them will say they never ate for how many days? I try not to get emotional. I get very sad, but I just try to keep my sadness in and try to help them in every way we can. I try to give leftovers to everyone.”

LNG is possibly much more dangerous than other fossil fuels. Leaks in the system release methane, which is a much more potent heat trapping gas than CO2.
I predict that in 20- 30 years, we’ll see this is a huge mistake and be fighting to get back off LNG.
LNG Is the ‘Elephant in the Room’ at BC Climate Plan Update | The Tyee
The province’s plan to reduce emissions can be salvaged. But expansion of gas exports needs scrutiny, reviewers say.

Yes indeed. And beyond the BS with fascist 🇷🇺, and despite greenwashing, Toyota is evil on climate: “It has become the largest funder of US lawmakers who deny the existence of the climate crisis… behind the scenes influencing US politics in a sustained attempt to hold EVs from mainstream adoption...”
Toyota Promoted Its Hybrid While Funding Climate Deniers - CleanTechnica
Between 2019 and 2023 Toyota spent over $31 million just on US federal lobbying, the majority of which was designated for climate deniers.

Well fascist Russia is actually incredibly fragile already, and if EU members and other democracies closed sanctions loopholes + stopped importing its fossil fuels, it wouldn’t have the $$ to keep brutalizing our ally Ukraine.
Fascist Russia is much more fragile than its cowardly apologists admit - its epic war losses are accelerating a demographic death-spiral and economic collapse.👇 So it’s incredibly important that 🇨🇦 + allies seize the moment to better help 🇺🇦 by tightening sanctions and hastening Moscow’s defeat.
“This is a serious enough slowdown that we’ve already been noticing it for the last 6 mths. Even military-industrial complex is beginning to slow down, partially because of the rates but also lack of labor, lack of ability to invest.” @eribakova.bsky.social via @financialtimes.com: on.ft.com/4muEgKU

Methane pollution is continuously vented from O&G infrastructure and it’s supercharging global heating. And now with the MOU between Ottawa and Alberta, we can expect more of this because the #methane regs have been rolled back. 😠 #environment #pollution
