I played a bit of this at an event and the art is gorgeous as anything, the gameplay (a deck builder about winning legal arguments) is something I haven't seen before, and... well, don't you wanna fight corporations to save a river?? Go back this!

Another primitive Photoshop technique that I like is Mr Ader's ‘Avion III’. In 1897, to simplify the image cut-out, he placed lots of white sheets of paper around the aeroplane.

Something I've noticed which I enjoy is other Scots speakers using "Jamped" as a past tense for jump, but using it to refer to jumping in the distant past, if it was more recent they'd say jump. Never seen anyone speaking about this before.

i love to debug things via making public posts. like, in many ways it's worse. it makes you afraid of making small changes (it can spam yr followers). but also it's more fun. and it communicates the fact that you're working, and what kinds of things you're working on.

trying to think through how this applies to videogames
i'm new to "design", and the lesson i unexpectedly keep learning over and over is that the UI should actually reflect the data model. when i try to hide the underlying model fearing it would be confusing, it actually ends up way more confusing and cause contradictions than if i had just embraced it

That last point is complex - but it’s happening & in multiple places internationally at the loss of community expertise & labor

The obvious thing here is that these are addiction behaviors, which makes me wonder about the intermittent reinforcement schedule and the built-in delays (currently conceived of as eventually fixable bugs) as significant factors.
