Just leave the AMA already. If you want actual good medicine for your patients, just leave. Stop giving them your money.

I haven’t been a member since student membership passed. I know I didn’t pay for that either.

Really cannot stress enough that if you start from the assumption that no one deserves to be raped then you don’t have to highlight the specific vulnerabilities of particular survivors in order to get people on board with the fact that their violation was a bad thing

I'd go further and say there's a nightmare mirror version of any political issue you'd care to mention. RFK Jr is like this with our food system and environmental illnesses. Terfism is like this with feminist politics. This is why people should read Doppleganger.
Antisemitism is a lot like Qanon child abuse conspiracies in that there’s this real and bad phenomenon and, parallel to that, what can only be described as a large scale mass psychosis about a mostly fictional version of the same phenomenon

I have a new essay coming out next week so stay tuned! since one of the ppl I critique in it is a hardcore "gamete truther", I figured I'd re-up this – discusses both the actual biology & the bonkers anti-trans talking point that's grown out of it (no paywall): juliaserano.medium.com/why-are-gend...

I have a series of new glass mini wreaths in the shop. They're gorgeous on Christmas trees but also look great as wall hangings. $50.

I'm going to be adding more new stuff over the next few days as my health allows and will give 10% of this weekend's sales to the Roadrunner Food Bank.

What's the policy on snuff videos? You know the people murdered in this video were civilians yeah? And then the same account threatened to murder more people?

Hey look, Protect Trans Futures is here! They're the activists featured in my latest story on the reaction to Fenway Health ending transition care for trans patients under the age of 19.
BREAKING: Protesters both in and outside the annual Fenway Health Gala decried the LGBTQ community health center's recent decision to end care for trans youth and young adults.

Bodily autonomy is the ultimate principle here and if we’re gonna make it stick we need to do away with the deep-seated notion that certain kinds of bodies are bad and undesirable to the point of being other people’s personal business and indeed a social problem
Fatphobia goes hand in hand with transphobia and is rampant even in otherwise progressive spaces because it makes people feel a sense of control to police their own and other people's bodies. It is social poison and we will never eliminate transphobia without eliminating anti-fatness.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

Besides age, another takeaway from these graphs is that irreligious and college-educated people really are just less racially bigoted. Period. All the discourse about how ivory tower urbanites are overlooking the solidarity of tight knit small town religious communities? They're wrong. It's false.
Those claiming Dems should retreat on racial justice aren't hard-headed realists, they're pushing against the electoral tide rather than leaning into it. The story of Gen Z isn't about racist backlash or red-pilled young men. It's the most racially progressive generation in American history. 🧵

Whether it's garbage NYT left-bait or right wing flood-the-zone nonsense that we all pile on to, we are letting the wrong people set our overall information agenda in a very deep and fundamental way. And it's a very serious mistake.

you should go out of your way to use your trans friends' names when you talk to them

they chose their names and they feel it in their chests when they hear or see it

we waited our whole lives to hear our real names and it doesn't get old
