it's cool that so many people in positions of power and influence were so negatively polarized by "wokeness" that they convinced themselves that there was an actual debate about who wanted to erase history and the "wokes" were on the wrong side bsky.app/profile/arch...
"Slavery was real"

The same people banning Mifepristone, a pill that is safe for medical abortion are the same people who have brought back measles, are banning vaccines and are trying to make polio vaccination optional. These people do not care about life. They care about control and inflicting maximal suffering.

— Israel kills 3 journalists, including CBS contributor
— AFP, the other impacted outlet, condemns killing & calls for investigation
— CBS doesn't, instead peddles Israel's claim that they were targeting a group with "a drone affilliated with Hamas"

Inside the Bari Weiss-led CBS response:
Bari Weiss’s CBS News Won’t Even Condemn Israel for Killing a CBS Contributor
Instead, the network’s new top anchor Tony Dokoupil peddles Israel’s talking points about it killing a Palestinian journalist. A CBS source calls it a ‘disgrace.’

The modern right is like, pathologically incapable of personal responsibility. They're still floating by in the fumes of the 80s.

It's a total vacuum. Somebody besides Mamdani should probably figure out how to leverage that

Running off to work on a story.

In the meantime:

Religious left: still a thing.
Arrests calmly ongoing.

This is going to take a while. There are a lot of clergy risking arrest.

Don't forget the Supreme Court's role facilitating ICE's brutality and racism in Minneapolis. SCOTUS lifted an injunction that limited racial profiling in immigration enforcement on Sept. 8. The federal assault on Chicago began the next day. Then came the Twin Cities. SCOTUS greenlit these horrors.

I can't decide how I feel about this, but I think I'm OK with a small celebration of Benedict Arnold in this instance.

TFW your airport is completely full of clergy coming to defend your people
The clergy just keep coming to this anti-ICE protest.

Genuinely unclear where they all will go — it’s packed outside on the sidewalk already.

We are miles beyond the point where anyone defending Hakeem Jeffries's leadership should be presumed to be operating in good faith.
If you want to know what people mean when they say Democrats are "controlled opposition," rather than whipping votes against ICE funding, Hakeem Jeffries struck a deal with Republicans to allow Democrats to feign outrage at ICE while still funding the spending package.

Mortality rates:

Mifepristone: 0.65/100,000
Penicillin 2/100K
Viagra 4/100K

Pregnancy in the US: 22/100,000 (some states see rates >60/100K)

More people have died in ICE detention centers already in 2026 than will die from mifepristone all year. These politicians are extremely dangerous to women.
Rep. Chris Smith: "The abortion pill -- mifepristone -- is baby poison ... we now know that the abortion bill -- we've long expected this -- is extremely dangerous to women" (this is a lie)

The biggest media story of the last 40 years is that there were very clear signs of this for the last 40 years but America's most influential news companies spent that time pretending the parties had equal and symmetrical flaws and so here we are.
The biggest political story of the last 40 years is the Republican Party losing their fucking minds
Rep. Greg Steube: "You see Macron and the French sending troops to Greenland. I would love to see the US military up against French troops in Greenland, because it would not last very long. It would be a very small skirmish ... we don't care about what Macron and the French want."

*America no longer has a "party system." MAGA doesn't even have a 'party platform"

*The USA doesn't have "political parties" any more than it has a "Fourth Estate" of printed newspapers, magazines and broadcast TV
America has two major parties:

One party exists to serve the demented whims of our Nazi Pedophile Mad King.

One party isn’t sure whether to fund his lawless goons who are shooting legal observers in the face.

We need to end the two party system.

It really bothers me that people like this, with a clear unwillingness to read even basic documented history, get to have large platforms that influence the thoughts of millions.
Matt Taibbi criticizes the ICE protests in Minneapolis, and says Martin Luther King Jr. would not have approved of them.

Taibbi claims MLK would not support "guilt because of racial identity" or "bringing religion into it".

ICE is sending these kids to the concentration camp in Dilley, Texas, where they're preparing to have so many children that they're opening a new school there. They're actively hiring teachers now. I reported on it last month. We have to get people out of there.

Marco Rubio signed off, despite warnings by DHS that their findings looked like protected speech.

This is not materially different from Josef Mengele. The concept is to deliberately expose people to serious harm so you can gather more data on what you already know will hurt them. It's not some big coincidence the Nuremberg Code expressly prohibits everything resembling this kind of "science."

Measles immune amnesia is a serious effect where the measles virus attacks and "erases" the immune system's memory, making a person vulnerable to other infections (like pneumonia or chickenpox) for years, forcing the body to re-learn how to fight previously encountered germs and vaccines.
