It's such a red flag for misogyny in some form, when colleagues or managers describe a woman as "difficult", without any kind of evidence of any serious misconduct.

Code for; she won't tolerate our misconduct, exclude her.
Thinking about the time I was at a quantum gravity meeting and the man across from me was talking to me and a man next to him turned and said in all seriousness “don’t talk to her, she’s difficult” and it was because I had reacted ”badly” to racism. Meanwhile their heroes were hanging with Epstein.

CONFIRMED in Estimates this morning that Defence's $3B land privatisation has ONE test which is who pays most. Public housing or veterans uses are not being considered.

Century-old public land sold off without any public benefit assessment. Privatisation at it's grubby worst.

Thread about the backstory, related cases of sexual harrassers in #STEM being covered up. #auspol
My reputation as a black listed trouble maker, you mean? The Terry Speed (the statistician who got OJ Simpson of his murder charge) sexual harassment story was breaking at same time &WEHI / UC Berkeley covered that up too. My then employer? Became enraged that I was embroiled in all this brouhaha.

Dr Mel was known in Australia for her promotion of women in #STEM, before exposing Krauss and leaving Oz for the UK. #auspol

I think this is not very clear to people, but the police blocked all the exits and protestors could not get out, even the ones who were not intending to march.
People just wanted to leave but were trapped by police, then charged at by cops, pepper sprayed and assaulted.
Crikey was on the ground at the Sydney protest against Israeli President Isaac Herzog. We captured the confusion about how and where protesters should leave the rally, beginning with a heated discussion between NSW Police and NSW Greens MPs.

They could have killed her.

As someone with respiratory disabilities who goes to protests, I'm very aware that casual police abuse of aerosol sprays combined with routine police failures to de-escalate and secure medical help for injured people, are what really make protests unsafe. #auspol
"I helped a young girl who had been pepper sprayed in the face and collapsed into a seizure on the pavement. She was convulsing, incapacitated. As she lay there on the ground, police sprayed her again in the face." Eyewitness account by Andrew Brown michaelwest.com.au/this-was-pla...
This was planned. And Chris Minns owns it. - Michael West
NSW Police have assaulted dozens of peace protestors who gathered to protest the visit by Israeli president Isaac Herzog to Australia.

Even before that;

-Minns saw police fail to stop neo-nazi rallies, and rewarded them with more power

-Minns and Albo were anti-protests for Palestine in particular. Police assaulted, partially blinded a Greens candidate at a pro-Palestine protest

Condemning protest encourages state violence
Huh. Almost like absolutely everyone saw this coming from the minute the government invited the Israeli head of state and told Sydneysiders they couldn't protest about it.
