One Battle After Another.
Wasn't convinced at the start, but stuck with it. Good.
Sean Penn is utterly repellant as Lockjaw, and seems to be modelling his mannerisms on RFK Jr.

A good hashtag to follow when you need a boost.
Our little polar bear ❄️❤️Chester’s enthusiasm for winter is…well, not exactly contagious…but definitely heartwarming. #DailyChester

Oh help.
Could you imagine it somehow ends up a Djokovic v Zverev final.
Don't want either of those dickheads to win.

Short term I completely understand this.
We all need breaks.
Longer term, yeah, a disengaged, disinterested community is not good and leads to people falling easily for misinformation from bad faith actors.
Saying that, I've streamed some marvellous shows over summer!
I’ve been so surprised at the number of people deliberately tuning out of current affairs. Conversations usually start with a request for recommendations on good programs for streaming. The reason given for news avoidance is always the way politicians interviewed are just spreading hatred #auspol

Turns out it isn't sold out when you check now.
Must have been some online issue.
Phew, people do have more sense.
How the actual fuck is the Friday night session of the Melania movie sold out at Palace Central in Sydney?
People deciding to hate watch it while drunk?
Some uni student prank? (but uni isn't back yet?)

Interesting that in parts of the media there is more outrage at Hoodoo Gurus taking a swipe at Pauline Hanson than at someone throwing a home made explosive device into a crowd of people.

Still voting for Green Sheep.

It's hot. The news cycle is pretty bleak. We're covering all of that. But ALSO we have this joyful happy poll about Australia's favourite children's picture books. There are so many to choose from. I've written about my favourite for later in the week....

I am having a really rough morning emotionally and would like more videos and pictures of your dogs - not just any dogs, but your dogs - in the snow.

Heat is nasty, and it will kill.

Report by Victoria's chief health officer, Dr John Carnie, put the final figure at 374 for the 2009 Heatwave.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, stay safe, look out for everyone and everything.
