Please email me and I'll send you the deets.

An Australian crake (AKA spotted crake).
Such perfect camouflage.

Someone clever should assemble an online writers’ week starring all the people too principled to attend the Adelaide one. Donations to go directly to the artists.

That crowd is not wrong.

Social cohesion is a pipe dream when so many policies reinforce inequality.

A Pacific golden plover on the left and a grey plover on the right at Bald Hill Beach.
PGP's are uncommon here in South Australia.
This shot illustrates the size difference.

Just another thing to carry.

Now there's a Royal Commission that I would support!

I really struggled walking home from the bus stop. I kept stopping under whatever shady tree I could find to catch my breath. One dear lady, who I often see, came out of her house and asked me if I needed a glass of water or a wet flannel for my face. When I got home, I checked. It was 43 degrees 😬

Correct!
Unless my office-mate does that - but I know her well enough to tell her to stop it 😂

One good thing about the changes at work - I get to move out of the open plan arrangement and back into an office! Sharing with just one other person and we'll only overlap for one day each week anyway. Winning!

Yes, that's correct. A young one.

There should be a new section at the AWM called "War Criminals". I'd be happy for BRS's photo to feature there, edited or not.

I've seen them on the menu boards of many chicken & chip places here in Adelaide. Like you, I haven't tried one either.

I have seen deep-fried Mars bars available in Australian fast food places. Anyway, I have no further information. I need someone in Melbourne to investigate this for me.

My daughter informed me that a Chinese restaurant in Melbourne is doing deep fried Vienetta. I am equal parts horrified and intrigued 🤔

My bus this morning clearly had some issues.
Then, when it stopped for a long time at the first stop in the city and I heard the words "gearbox", "overheating" and "malfunction", I bailed and walked to the tram stop instead. That delivered me directly to my building. Not an entirely bad idea 🚋

Starting the day with some interaction with a local doggo on the way to the bus is always great. This morning it was Fudge. She's lovely 🤎

There are grey plovers at the back and sharp-tailed sandpipers on the right.

Hide and seek winner.
A Latham's snipe at Burton, South Australia.
These birds are considered to be 'near threatened' and are actually listed as 'rare' here in SA.
This one will spend summer here then head off to breeding grounds in Japan. Most likely in Hokkaidō in northern Japan.

No. They are really ballsy. No need for camouflage 😆
