It might seem obvious that if you value something, you'll make an effort to get better at it.

What's less intuitive is that if you make an effort to get better at something you're not good at, you'll learn its value.
This is basically what the "Tech Industry" does now.

Tech is using gamification for cruelty.

call me crazy but it really feels like “World’s Richest Man Creates AI Chatbot That Generates Child Porn” would’ve been a huge international outrage requiring a governmental crackdown not even 24 months ago

We ended up accidentally watching this whole video yesterday, and against all odds, it ended up being one of the greatest pieces of cinema I've ever experienced:

Let's be really really clear: "no evidence" doesn't mean jack shit.

The dirty secret is it's easier to protect a system than it is to log all access to a system. They couldn't protect the system. I'll bet real money they wouldn't even have good enough logging to KNOW what was accessed.

I am once again reminding everyone that Hitler wasn't a genius. Hitler led his country to utter ruin. He killed himself in a bunker while his city was demolished by Russian tanks. His corpse was incinerated in a ditch like the garbage it was.
Curtis Yarvin, JD Vance’s friend & ideological influence, ended 2025 by claiming “only Hitler spoke the truth” about “too many subjects” & “Hitler was a genius.”

Extremism isn’t fringe on the right. Once marginal online extremists like Yarvin are influential at the highest levels of government.

Okay, I will preface this with the GIGANTIC disclaimer that I promise I know how this looks, and I *swear* this is not personally motivated: If you have an old #LiveJournal account, and it has things you still care about in it, download it or import it to Dreamwidth SOON. Details:

One particularly jaw-dropping attachment in the sample set is a Molemap patient record containing two photos: The naked top and underwear-covered bottom of a map

All of these attachments have varying information such as names, addresses, phone numbers, NHI numbers, email addresses and more

Sorry
It appears that New Zealand is still there and functioning as well as it was before. Unfortunately this means there does not appear to be a calendar specific global catastrophe in the making and so we have to go into work tomorrow. Bugger.

Among other things, there are test results (ie; Labtests), referral letters, patient health summaries, hospital ED summaries and other letters

When talking teenagers into committing suicide it'll recommend ordering the rope through partner site Amazon Prime.
