Today, Russians mix Russian oil with Venezuelan oil, which is also sold through the shadow fleet, and market it as oil from third countries.

If Trump succeeds in a rapid change of the Maduro regime, it will not stop but will complicate the operations of Russia’s shadow fleet

Caracas is under fire. Multiple U.S. strikes have hit key military sites: Fuerte Tiuna, La Carlota airbase, and a communications center in El Hatillo. Explosions echo through the capital, the power is out in parts of the city, and U.S. helicopters are flying low. Fires also rage near La Guaira.

Charlotte Nichols MP (Labour, Warrington North) says AI-generated sexual harassment must be the final straw for the UK government using X

A growing number of Labour MPs thought this needed a proper review last year: next week may see this cut through

Misogyny is an official priority of this gvt
There is, to my mind, no justification for the continued use by the UK Government of X as a platform for official comms. There hasn't been for some time, in fact, but if the latest developments around AI-generated image abuse and CSAM don't change the policy I really don't know what will.
NEW: People are using Elon Musk's chatbot, Grok, to alter images to depict real women being sexually abused, humiliated, hurt, and even killed.

Just the two examples of Polish politicians *using their X accounts* to complain about Grok producing child pornography, which is rather like writing to the editor of Stormfront to threaten to cancel your subscription because of all the racism: you have kind of missed the point.

Grok does paedophilia. Google does... oh forget it. They all produce useful stuff and dangerous stuff, and we have to try to discern which is which.

@torstenbell.bsky.social I keep seeing quotes from ministers who still have Twitter accounts, and I wonder what the minister for women and equalities thinks about Grok's paedophilic products this week.

The government is refusing to review its own use of TwiX, and Ofcom looks very weak.
