Rupert Lowe is both promoting the death penalty (in some cases) at PMQs + championing that inciting murderous violence [he tweeted: this was a Muslim "heads must roll" + get out + do it + hide your identity + anybody protecting the Muslims is a traitor] should not be policed/prosecuted at all!
Rupert Lowe is very soft on crime - if those crimes are committed by members of an in-group (those members of the majority group, who express violent prejudices against Muslims, minorities or migrants, and who incite lawless disorder against Muslims *and* those who oppose violence against Muslims)

Starmer says he's in Manchester "doing his job".

At the NHS Providers conference.

You're flattering Starmer & co to think they've managed a policy to that effect. I was just pointing out that that they're discussing the abolition of NHS England because Wes Streeting has announced today that the policy will be proceeding.

I'm not happy with every part of Robinson's day-to-day output, but I'm not going to assume he's the same person he was 30 years ago.

But... he's certainly showed no ability to run a £6bn international operation.

Exactly. We all have history. I was briefly a member of the Socialist Society at university. Has that defined my life ever since?

Because the BBC and most of the rest of the media are captivated by Trump. Samir Shah tells us that BBC Arabic has been re-structured

but we plebs never get information on that kind of thing.

Is he really a party activist? Today?

Robinson might make an argument for the first part of the job, but the second...?

The structure of BBC management needs some attention, by people who know what they're doing, not just "an outsider who knows how to turn organisations around".

The director generalship is a huge job - editor-in-chief and operation of a £6bn organisation. Maybe just split those roles.

I agree with @arusbridger.bsky.social about BBC governance. Although v hesitant about another rearrangement, the single corporate-style board is massively flawed, not least because there needs to be some distance for the governors/board members from editorial decisions
