No way to know for sure. I’ve filed reports for impersonation and scam accounts on twitter/x before. Part of that process includes validating a DL, but it specifically says the DL info will remain private. Given that x had access to my DL info previously, is that where grok got it? Who knows!

The pretense that unbiased journalism doesn't allow for evaluative judgments is stupid and weird and obviously untrue. Every time a killing is described as "brutal" or a politician is called "embattled", journalists are making judgments based on norms.

Idk if this made the national media as much but they didn’t just occupy parliament they also protested outside specific govt buildings whom they made demands of including my work. We had to work from home until the occupation was cleared. Then within a couple of months their demands were met
Ppl may disagree w this but I think we also gotta come to terms with the fact that police leadership were sympathetic to the occupation and imo didn’t end it until certain concessions were granted

The legitimately innovative thing about AI is that it is a completely bottomless pit. It's swallowed up:

- all energy sources
- all our data
- all investment dollars
- all new jobs
- all capex
- all attention
- and now, all hardware components

with absolutely no end in sight. Nothing will satisfy.
the AI junk that nobody - including the people making it - have enough real uses or profitable demand for is screwing up all the things that have real uses and decades of profitable demand

lol, it’s a lot easier to form a tenants union when everyone in the building is in the same group chat
MAJOR: Twin Cities Tenants joins five labor unions, together repping 25,900 members, to launch a rent strike drive, vowing to withhold rent March 1 if @governorwalz.mn.gov fails to deliver an eviction moratorium and rent relief. If launched, this would be the largest US rent strike in 100+ years.

as someone who needs mental healthcare, i kinda hate it when public figures come out with statements about how we need to invest in mh care. it's an uphill battle to get better if your core needs aren't being met. effective mh care looks like stable housing, sufficient food, and climate action

If you are handing out flyers for a bridge club perhaps consider also wearing a big sign that says ‘bridge club’. Otherwise based on ur demographic I am going to assume you are proselytising and glare daggers until I get close enough to read your little pamphlet. Sorry

I just think it’s incredibly important to know that this is how it works. Basically no one on the right is going “oh no I don’t agree with hold-your-nose voting”. They are all holding their noses in support of their bigger goals. They do that willingly for hundreds of years.
i had a friend in 2016 (not any longer) who told me she’d voted for Trump as a committed Catholic because “he’s a disgusting person, horrible morals, wouldn’t leave him around my kids, but he’ll stack the court against abortion and that’s what I care about”

The right get in lockstep
I also want to tell you - as someone who grew up fundamentalist - that the right will always do this

many fundy Christian ppl voted Trump while hating him

if they get into lockstep while the left are still holding out for the ideologically perfect candidate, the right will always always win

really gone under-reported just how heavily, and directly, connected these networks are to sitting politicians
NZ has not really come to terms with how far developed the disinfo networks were that led to riots and flames on the parliament grounds.

It's been brushed off as individual cookers without much serious introspection in public of the information ecosystem and funding conditions that led to it.

I do think cluing in to the human social information behavior of performing make-believe as a way of signaling suspension of disbelief for a willing audience to bind their commitment to a collective belief has been a skeleton key for me to unlock so much understanding of otherwise weird behavior.
