Note that this is a newish amendment to the Save America Act. The earlier version was plenty bad. But this is even worse. Curiously, I had a really hard time finding this latest version online. I knew to look only bc the Brennan Center alluded to an amendment along these lines.

And this floor amendment would ensure that if ICE has any agreements with local law enforcement, that they must follow Virginia law re: no chokeholds, no shooting into cars, deadly force use laws. Smart to have gotten the Republicans on record on these.

The establishment can put its thumb on the scale for some candidates all it wants, but for the primary we need a plan B, C, D, etc. in case something happens to the designated front runner.
The reality is we need to game out the possibilities and avoid putting all our eggs into one basket.
