If we are going back, can we at least go back to when we vaccinated our kids, drank pasteurized milk, and inspected our food?

“Eat real food”

Maybe people would if it were readily available. Many people in our country do not have access to fresh fruits and vegetables.

The President’s post targeting Former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama is rooted in hatred and racism. This is who he is—and what he’s willing to normalize. It is unacceptable.

Every leader who believes in basic decency must speak out now.
Silence is complicity.
White House removes Trump post with racist footage of Obamas hours after defending it
The footage is included in a video that promotes false claims that the 2020 presidential election was rigged against Mr. Trump.

Measles cases are rising.

A newborn baby died from listeria infection. The mother drank raw milk. Listeria can cause miscarriages & still births.

Pasteurization was invented for a reason.

Misinformation is expensive.
MAHA is making us sicker.

This will make it more difficult for scientists to find the info they need for anything related to specific institutes at NIH: NCI, NIDDK, NIAID, NIEHS, etc. First they got rid of the communications staff. Now they are getting rid of communication.

The recent appropriation that funded NIH still contains caveats and scientists should still be concerned.

"the poison pill of multiyear funding does remain buried within the bill. Multiyear funding acts to cut NIH funding without cutting the NIH budget."
As we start the think about F&27 appropriations, unpacking the FY26 budget may help set us up for next year.

We need scientists to engage in the process now - to fight for appropriation law that doesn't just fund NIH but fights to protect science and democracy.

Was Bhattacharya sworn in? In other words, did he perjure himself or just lie?
Key Takeaways from NIH Director Bhattacharya's hearing from Miriam and Bethesda Declaration whistleblower Jenna Norton (speaking in personal capacity). Our analysis? "Oof."

Please stop saying the bill allows "no more multi-year funding" - or at least be clear the 'more' is in reference to disastrous FY25 levels.

The bill allows 39% MYF, same as in FY25, which contributed substantially to a 24% drop in new research.

The bill has some wins. MYF is not one of them.
Both chambers of Congress have now passed the FY26 minibus with NIH provisions. The President will sign.

(1) $48.7 billion for NIH
(2) Full IDC recovery
(3) No more multi-year funding
(4) No NIH reorganization, maintaining the current IC structure.

Abolish ICE.

There’s no reforming it.

There’s no compromise.

There’s only one way to rein in ICE’s terror campaign. Abolish it.

Everyone needs to know what the #BethesdaDeclaration is-

It is loud statement of dissent against leadership that has politicized research by halting high quality grants, disrupted work & interruption of global collaboration.

Being vocal is imperative now.

Professional athletes are being advised not to leave the hotel or go anywhere without their passports while visiting Minnesota.

This is not a country that can safely host international events like the World Cup.

Boycotting is not even a political question anymore. It is a basic issue of safety.
The Montreal Canadiens are playing the Minnesota Wild in Minneapolis tonight. The players have been recommended to stay in/eat at the hotel, take the team bus to the arena, and carry passports.

Perhaps we shouldn't be hosting the World Cup and the Olympics...

Now more than ever, it is critical that we teach our history, preserve our history, and continue to make history.

Black history is American history.
