This is a desperate attempt to scare federal workers (especially in MD and VA) into asking our senators to vote for the MAGA CR.
According to OPM, "When a shutdown furlough goes beyond 30 days, agencies must treat it as a second shutdown furlough."

OPM guidance stating that furloughs >30 calendar days are treated as another furlough.

This is on the NIH Facebook page. The director accuses staff of politicizing science, yet he does this. Remember that the GOP controls the House, Senate, and White House. So it is really Bhattacharya's masters who are leading the shutdown.

I can count on one finger the number of partisan political emails I've received from official accounts in my many years in government. No competent Department Secretary or agency Director would allow this Hatch Act violation be reach their employees' inboxes.
