Was going to use today to replace some bathroom faucets. But the old ones have some funky parts. So instead, I’ve reached out to my plumber guys to schedule them to come replace them.
Which is practically the same has getting it done today…

Higher Ed, in particular, should have fought 2FA on personal phones and removing our office phones tooth and nail for this reason.
I think it was @tressiemcphd.bsky.social who was insistent that we decouple our online work lives from our online personal lives and here's data point one million supporting that theory. A lot of people can't ditch google for work functionality, but separating out personal accounts gives you options

I guess unapologetic fits President “Bone Spurs”…
If you think there’s NOTHING in our heritage (or in any nation’s) to be unapologetic about, you’re a fool. A dangerous fool.

One advantage of the NIH public funding system is that the scientific community—average scientists—influences funding decisions.

This is a more democratic process than a system that involves begging Jeffrey Epstein for largess.

North Carolina lawmakers have voted to remove all college campus voting sites. Specifically at the largest HBCU in the US NC A&T. They now have to walk 30 minutes to their nearest polling place. Students are protesting this - pls share and support.

There’s been a lot of understandable angst about the loss of technical expertise at our science agencies; I wish there was greater appreciation for the magnitude of loss in the budget and administrative divisions.
These are the people who actually make the trains run.
The loss of grants management specialists, those with the budget and accounting knowledge to actually get awards out the door is just as damaging for our agencies. May not have Phds but for some ICs we’ve lost more of them then folks with PhDs.
